A little about myself, the names Felipe, born and raised as a child in Fredericton NB, at the age of 11 I moved to Arizona and then at 18 to Pennsylvania , USA. I have owned 2 precision rifles to this day a beautiful Tac Ops Lima 63 custom build and a AIAE. My heart is set on moving back to my hometown. I'm 21 and have been hunting since 12 and competing since age 15. Precision long rifle is my favorite pastime. Anyway I was set on a custom build in a Racs chassis but now I'm thinking of going with a Ruger Precision Rifle in .243 (I reload) topped with S&B glass. I am interested in meeting people with the same passion as mine, pushing the limits of accuracy and distance obtainable by these rifles . I'd love to meet the community (if existent ) of long range precision shooters in New Brunswick and surrounding provinces.
Anyway..
Nice to meet y'all,
Felipe

look up the royal new Brunswick rifle association. F class is very active here.

If you pm me your email I can give you the full bore coordinators email. The reality is the only ranges suitable for long range shooting are at CFB Gagetown and St. Antoine. To shoot on either you are going to have to be a member of RNBRA.

Welcome back to N-B Felipe we have a great bunch of guys shooting fullbore f-class and tr for long range shooting feel free to contact me if you want to know more and to join the RNBRA.

JBD don't forget St Gabriel range is also suitable for long range shooting and have held 3 shoots since spring.

Definitely great bunch from NB many of whom will shoot at Atlantic Championship this weekend here at Bull Meadow followed by Mini Palma with our shooters v. New England.

Best regards,

Peter

Thanks for the replies gents, I will be in contact a little closer to moving time. Current eta is 10 weeks. Nice to know some share my passion in NB

If you plan on moving back to Fredericton be sure to look up the Shooting range in Springfield just outside of Fredericton. Google FRSA and you will find the website. Range dues are very reasonable and the range is very well maintained. You can shoot as far as 1000m.

Professor Gordon Holloway, UNB, was here last evening on way to match. He gave a ballistics course at Engineering Department, part of which was a shooting day at range. He is also a director of the Royal NB Rifle Association and part of that Provinces contingent for the Atlantic Championship/Mini Palma. Sunday we are having a formal banquet at the Officers Mess, Royal Artillery Park, the oldest military mess in Canada(1816), land purchased 1799. It is alongside Citadel Hill where we hosted the first American rifle team to our Province as well as Scottish and GB Rifle Teams. NB, NS and PEI have competed in the oldest team match in Canada, the Inter-Maritime, first shot in St. John in 1886 and what a trophy we still have!

Best regards,

Peter

Peter I didn't realize it was the oldest team match in Canada although I knew it started in the late 1800's and that it had never been missed, I have shot it twice as well as the british team match on the following day great fun.
I hope you guys are having a good weekend

cheers JC

J.C makes quality barrels and he, along with Paul Bastarache, another fine shooter, have a nice range not too far from Moncton.

Lots of great friendly shooters around the maritimes(NL included) and more are always welcome.

You would probably enjoy F-class shooting, come try it out. 800-900M are pretty much it for distance around here as far as I know, but the target is pretty small and plenty of challenge.

New Brunswick shooters did very well during our weekend matches with Paul Bastarache being top shooter in FClass. Matt Wolf, Ken Kyle, Adam MacDonald, Francis Bezeau, Mo Bennet and Mike Lutes are all great guys and Ron and Michelle Surette from the St. Antoine Range shot well and do a lot for shooting.

Americans shot the Atlantic Championship for the first time and loved it so much so that they will be back. Part of the success is that we had our act together with Bill Giles, Chair, getting dedicated butts officer ex ERD Keith Musselman as RO, Dana Giles's lunches, Jeff Jenkins banquet at Royal Artillery Park being huge and Erin Kolb doing stats. Leo from Winnipeg commented on Maritime hospitality in brief speech at banquet.

Will post results on Long Range forum.

Best regards,

Peter

Sorry if off topic, but what kind of scopes are you running to see your targets at 800m? I was having a hard time seeing my targets at 200m with a zeiss conquest hd5 5-25x50mm.

Does anyone know how to get ahold of the New Brunswick Benchrest shooters. I have tried several methods but none work. The Emails keep bouncing.

Rastus: what kind if benchrest are you interesred in? Are you thinking short range or long range? What part of the province are you in?
