New Brunswick PRS style matches

Ahh, lol, thanks for clarifying. I see the pic now on the previous page :)

Would it be a safe assumption to say that a Gamechanger and a TAB Gear rear bag or a STR8 Laced rear bag would be sufficient for a noob getting into PRS?

These things seem to constantly evolve, but certainly the Gamechanger was very popular at the matches I attended. I use one and like it. Both those other rear bags are pretty popular.

So good place to start

So you can see the extent of Rick's folly will bring a selection of stuff if I can get out to Springfield for folks to try.

Yep.

The other item i found very useful was a full size backpack like Eberlestock or Tasmanian Tiger. I fitted mine so that when i am kneeling or sitting, i can use the full length of the pack as a rear support, while the rifle foreend is on the prop being shot off of. Of course also helps in packing all your gear as some matches will only allow what you carry with you.

Match is a go for Sunday, the weathers looking good. Likely still some snow on the range, but we’ll make do.

Tentative course of fire (cof) is
1. 400m cold bore
2. 100m dots
3. Save the hostage
4. Unknown distance(as best we can)
5. PRS skills stage 2
6. Know your limits

The cof may change depending on range conditions and time constraints. I’m looking forward to it, see you on the range.

Good luck fellas! Wish I could get in on this one, but I'm just not ready as far as kit/rifle/load goes. I really hope this catches on as I want to get involved, hopefully I'll be able to shoot the next match.

I forgot to take any pictures. The range is still covered in snow, but we made out. Weather was great with very little wind. Turnout was low, but it’s early in the season. The up side of a low turnout was less waiting and more shooting for those who came out.
The match was more of a practice.

If anybody’s on the fence about coming out, these shoots are more of a practice than a match. I know it’s easy to stress about your gear, but the best way to learn is to jump in. Hopefully we get more out over the rest of the season.

Darn was really hoping someone took some pictures

I went today and will be going tomorrow to get my scope zero'd setup and do some load development

Any word on the Argus match? That's the one I'm planning to make it to and suppose to have 2 friends go as well

The May 06 match on Argus is still a go, if anything changes I’ll post here.

Awesome

Do you have directions how to get there or an address? Is the road going in car friendly? I know some of the ranges the dirt roads are pretty swampy right now

Here’s a link to the f class easterns webpage, they have a map to batouche range. Argus is the next range past batouche on the left. I’ll try and have a sign up on match day.

I’ll check out the road this weekend and update the road conditions. The Shirley usually has a few rough spots, but It should be fine. You may have to dodge the odd pothole.

I'm pretty stoked for this. My brass and bullet order from x-reload came early and I managed to work up a load for new brass. Might have another shooter from the previous Springfield PRS shoots coming out with me.
