What is the advantage of such a short barrel, other than compactness? In a precision rifle I thought the longer the barrel the better?

To re-iterate what Jerry (mysticplayer) has said in the past, shorter barrels are stiffer and thus potentially more accurate. Shorter barrels are also handier and lighter.

I myself chose a 20" 223 barrel because it makes a handy rifle, and anything over 22" barreled rifles won't fit in my gun cabinet.

Just run 40 round of 69gr federal match in it, 1 box was for break-in and the remaining 20 was for accuracy, at 150 yard, with this factory load, it produce 1 tinny hole, for now, it seem to be very accurate, the AICS mag are so long i think i can fit 75gr or mabye 80gr in it, will try to stretch the distance to 300yards during the weekend and post pic.

Thank's for the comments

Marc
