Just finished my new .223 Remington rifle, Savage Dual Port PTA, Weaver 20moa base, Burris Signature Series Rings, NF Competition 15-55x52 DDR2 scope, 28" SS select match 1-7 twist Shilen barrel, ARS chassis and Henry Rimple Bipod. It seems to shoot quite well!

Nice rifle. What bullet are you shooting? And is that monopod part of the stock?

Running the 90gn Berger VLDs, the monopod I actually made, I contoured and threaded an aluminum block and inserted it into the grip, it is used in conjunction with a block which has a contoured pocket that the ball sets into. It is extremely stable.

I'm not too keen on the stock, but any rifle that can shoot like that is definitely a quality piece...

Is it a laminated/overlaid wood unit, or machined aluminum ?

Cheers

Everything is A-OK except scope IMHO.
To use 55x power in objective with diameter of 52 mm is impossible even in perfect sunny day.
On top of to much mirage the exit pupil of .94mm makes all targets dim no matter of quality of optics.
Human eye pupil will not get smaller than 2mm no matter how strong the light.
.94 mm EP amounts of only 22% of light delivered to the eye at best.
Friend of mine once visited me from Vancouver with his new target gun with Leupold 45x45mm IIRC and in cloudy day we couldn't even see the target at 300m to confirm the zero. He sold that scope so quick....
