New Build

Well, this is kinda funny. Using TAC and 215M primers with TSXs I made a quick stop at the range today to try them out. Two rounds into .5" and then one more above to make 1". I am cool with that. Next group was 1.75" and stringing higher. Next group did the same thing climbing on me. I thought that was odd....
Admiring the rifle before casing it, I notice that the bell looks farther forward of the front ring than I remember mounting it. Closer inspection revealed.....

Mur had a pretty good laugh when I told him and frankly so am I. That little "Thumper" has some fast recoil and is walking the scope in the rings. Everything is still tight in the screw department, and I wouldn't torque them anymore than they are.
Tomorrow, I pick up some Talleys.....

So with the new Warne Steel rings screwed on, lapped bare and tightened snug....er it was off to the range this morning to meet Mur and his buddy that I am chasing goats and stuff with this weekend. I arrived to find the rifle side shut down til 4pm with loaders and dump trucks sitting where the 100yd targets should be. Damn it.

So came back later with the chronograph when everyone had cleared out and fired a few more rounds. The first group was about .75" for 3 shots and 3" high. Bingo!

I set up the Chrony and shot three more......

.435"

I adjusted 1 click higher and 1 click left fired once and split the hash mark.

2906, 2915, 2895, 2909 fps. Thats with 215M primers under 63.5grs of TAC with a 200gr TSX on top. It'll do. ;)
