New Bushnell ET- XRS3 and DMR3

Hey, a surprise guest appearance by George and his Giant Tiger.

6-36x56 now, interesting. The bottom powers are fairly useless on a precision competition scope, I'll agree - anything under about 8x. Though I'm not convinced powers over 27x are useful, but depends on clarity.

Interesting looking spotting scope. Great that it has reticles. The reticle is only in the bottom quarter. Maybe I'm missing it, but I don't see anywhere that clarifies if it is first or second focal plane. Surely it has to be first, can someone find confirmation?

Still the terrible minimum parallax of 50y that makes it useless for rimfire PRS.

That's interesting. I dug around the site a little and didn't see it mentioned. Not even in the manual. Still, I'd be very surprised if it's not FFP.

The DMR3 now has parallax down to 25 yards.

I was thinking about this more today. I'm very curious to see a video looking through that spotting scope as it zooms from min to max. I'm worried that even if it's FFP, that if you zoom in, because the reticle is so far from center, it will end up out of the field of view. Or maybe the demo images are at max zoom, in which case when you zoom out the reticle will end up just under center.

Good catch Lefty. I hadn't looked at the DMR3 page. Yes, 25y parallax and 32mil elevation. It would be a solid rimfire precision scope now. Though I think a bit more zoom would be handy for ammo testing and zeroing, it isn't strictly necessary.

I certainly like the DMR 2 just the G3 reticle is too heavy.
...skwerl

I’ve been shooting a DMR2 Pro for a number of years, for long range plinking and competition. It was a good scope- solid, reliable tracking.

Been wanting to try a XRS3 EQL Ret and finally ordered one today. Looking forward to trying it out.

The rebate is tempting. I have the xrs 3 with the g4p reticle. Scope is great, reticle is meh. I paid $1300 bnib for mine so I can live with it. The eql definitely looks better but having paid so little for mine I can't motivate myself to pay more

Yeah, I checked out both side by side. Been using GAP reticles for a long time, but definitely prefer the EQL. It'll be so much better for hold only stages. The only thing I'm not 100% sold on is how it is scaled, if that makes sense. I prefer to shoot around 12-15x, and the EQL may be a bit fine for that. At least for my eyes.
