New Cabela's in BC?

I'll never step foot in that Langley WSS again.
I was completely amazed at the lazy and utterly incompetent staff. The gal at customer service was the only one with her head in the game. Gun counter... Total joke with clueless dimwits and a fellow so lazy it took him 20 minutes to walk 1 box of 20 rounds to the cash desk. One of the worst shopping experiences I've encountered.

That seems to be common with WSS, maybe because their parent company is a farm co-op. The staff gives the impression like they're doing you a favor by being open or something. I'm amazed they're still around actually, sometimes I think it's a money laundering business or tax write-off.

My favourite is the kid with the beard that shows people the Tavor "assault rifle" as part of his anti-Israel rant.

I've been told that Bass Pro is supposed to be a little cheaper than Cabellas, but I haven't been in one yet to see, if that's true.

I've been to Bass Pro in Calgary wasn't impressed by the prices on most stuff. They do have their own proprietary lines of clothing and nick nacks that are fairly cheap.

I've been to Wholesale in Calgary, Nanaimo and Prince George. I found a couple of the staff in Calgary extremely snobby (gun counter guys) and a hint of that in Nanaimo too. Other than that I don't go in to these places for any kind of assistance I'm just as happy if I don't talk to any staff.

Cabelas in Nanaimo I found lacking in reloading stuff just the very basics. But tons of guns and scopes. I get asked if I need assistance there regularly which I normally don't at the others.

I think both BP in Tsawassen and Cabelas in Abby will do well. And give everyone more big box store things to ##### about :) If a small city like Nanaimo can keep WS and Cabelas going I don't think for a minute that Wholesale in Langley will suffer much from the new stores.

Same experience with me in Langley. They make you feel like a jerk if you wanna check out a gun. Maybe they need a employee sports day or something. Kamloops store folks are much more descent. Must be that Van city snob attitude creeping out to the valley....

Wss service does suck, but you can't knock their sales. Can't wait for Cabelas because it's another option for reloading items.

So does Cabela's 6 months after their grand opening. The first 3 months, the service is absolutely fantastic. Then it starts going downhill pretty fast.

Bass pro.....Cabelas.....wholesale sports are all overpriced......never made a purchase at any one of these stores.....will never enter one again for the rest of my life

I've had a pleasant and helpful experience at the Wholesale sports in both Nanaimo and Langley.

Re. the new mall in Tsawwassen however, I wonder if it is really going to work as a "drop in" site for travelers heading back to the Island. whenever i try to catch a ferry I'm late and always just make it in time.

I suppose if people know what stores they want to hit and plan it into their day it will work. We'll see.

But really, in my opinion that whole mall complex is just more of the commercialization and alienation of good farmland and migratory bird habitat in the Metro Vancouver area.

I was amazed that the Cabelas in Nanaimo doesn't even carry Cabelas own products like their fly line tipit packs. Nice shoe store though.
