New Canadian Action

As discussed elsewhere they are $1295 CAD and we have ordered 4. They have 25 years machining experience in a very successful company and have made firearm parts for the firearms industry.

Hi Peter

Interesting product. without to many comments from me can you or the company provide the benefits of 6 lug over other 2-3 lug models.

The video shows the 6 lugs stacked in 2 lug configuration for the standard bolt throw of 90 degrees.

cheers
Trevor

There is a thread about poor communication with another action maker. It is certainly not the case with this company. They are successful and didn't get that way with poor product or service!

Honestly, I hate when we have Canadian made items and they are priced in US dollars. I am going to have my rant on this just like those truckers that hate mandates.

This is Canada NOT the US. I had always hoped that here in Canada we would have something built here and have a bit of a break in cost. Yah right.

The problem is that most companies need to attract the American market, and Americans hate it even more-so when something is in another currency. After you make your sale to the 10 guys in Canada interested you need the Americans to stay afloat.

You think the US will make a difference? There are so many action makers in the US. Proven ones. I would assume the paperwork to send actions south no different than trying to bring one up into Canada. If anything I can see the US not wanting to bother with paperwork when they have so many great ones states side. This action will have to be proven in some manner to take off. It needs field trials against other shooters, rifles etc.

Multi lug bolt head
Floating bolt head
90degree bolt rotation
SAKO type extractor

I'll pass...at any CAD/USD price.

I can live with the multi lug and the floating head and the 90 degree lift but I would much prefer an enclosed extractor system. If you are copying Remington - copy them.

I have not seen any detailed closeups of the bolt assembly, but it looks as if the bolt body is a full diameter design - the diameters of the bolt body and bolt head over the lugs is the same. If this is the case, the R700/Sako style issue doesn't really matter. The locking lugs aren't riding in lugways.
Hard to tell from the available images in the video, but I think this is how the action is designed.

I think you are right...

My opinion, not that it matters.
Scope rail should extend well past the action, Sako extractor should be replaced by M16, multi lug has come and gone before. Send one to Al Warner for an honest opinion.

Ian, we do agree that Al Warner is top shelf, but we have experts here in the Maritimes; one with a PhD in mechanical engineering who is a top FClass shooter, other engineers and gunsmiths with many years in machining. We look forward to their views.

Regards,

Peter

I for one am happy to see more Canadian companies enter the market.
The bolt seems similar to the Barrett MRAD and Weatherby Mark V
I like that they are doing things a little different. Time will tell, but I wish them success. I am curious, and might pick one up

I just received one. I will post more detailed pics this weekend in the pr forum. As stated by maker... extremely smooth. Not done much else but work the action a few times....work

Seems there is some confusion on that pricing structure. Website shows $1625cdn as does our dealer program. Will be putting one together shortly and interested to see what they are all about. Always look forward to supporting more Canadian manufacturing if it hits the marketspace creating value. Canadian products can only help grow our market place.
