new Canadian Rangers rifle?

I came across this article about a possible replacement rifle for the Canadian rangers. It suggests that colt Canada could make an updated version of the enfield in 308 similar to the AIA. Does anyone know if there is an updade to the story? anything in the works?**EDIT-Sorry I meant to put this in the milsurp section***

They mucked up the preservation process (didn't), we should hired some Russians to preserve them, then they would last. Basic problem they want a new ###y Bolt action rifle that will survive lots of abuse and insist the suppliers gives the design rights to Colt.

like when Ruger Scout won the last round of competitions then refused to let Colt make them.

that said, i have the Ruger Scout and i live the remote north and there is no gun id rather have out in the bush.

upon sitting here and thinking about this, its a shame that one of our small companies wouldnt step up for this and take it.

or, for that matter, Colt already makes a AR in the 308 no?
why not just get them to make a C7 variant in the 308 and then classify it as non-restricted and just issue those?
