New cases too short?

I've read that even new brass, especially cheap stuff, should be full length sized and trimmed before it is loaded up.

I bought some cheap .308 Remington brass and the average length of a casing, untouched, is approx. 2.05".

I've also read that max. case length is 2.15" and should be trimmed to 2.05".

If it's already 2.05 can I simply trim it to 2.03 or 2.04 and call it a day, or will that be too short or not even worth it.

Newbie reloader obviously.

Thanks.

I think you are missing a "0". Max length is 2.015" and "trim to length" is 2.005". You can trim to 2.000" without a problem.

Have you measured a few after full length sizing?? IIRC the brass will lengthen slightly after sizing. I'm a newb to rifle reloading so do not take this as the gospel. If it was me, I'd full length size, trim, prep brass, and you're now good until it reaches max length again.

Unless they show physical damage they don't need resizing, just load them up and shoot them.
And don't worry about case length until they get over maximum.

I'd full length size them, measure, if not at max length, then just load and shoot.

I do agree about camfering, and your probably just fine not to size it first, but I like to anyway to save trouble.
