New Caster on the block

Great advice guys thanks!! I'm going to be shooting straight lead and pc bullets out of my glock17.Ive read pros and cons about the subject, some say don't because of leading and the polygon barrels, others say as long as you lube them, resize them(I have a Lee .356 resizing die)and check/clean the barrel every 50 rounds it should be OK.I might just buy a wolf replacement barrel also.Any and all advice is appreciated.

I've gone 400+ rounds without cleaning my stock glock 17 shooting a mix of plated, powder coat and straight lead without issue.

I started casting this summer. I've found that I enjoy the process from sortin' WW straight through to seating as much as I do trigger squeezing now. I'm sure that'll wear off in time, but I truly enjoy the methodic activity and it brings on a zen-like calm.

Get a big clock! I've lost th'odd hour once in the swing of things.

The only warning about casting outside is do it on a clear, cloudless day. One water drop out of the heavens into your lead pot will certainly ruin your day. Ask me how I know this...

All I can say is I thank God I had on a hat and full face shield, gloves and a leather jacket when my lead pot ejected half the lead in the subsequent explosion of lead from the random drop of rain.
