If you rechamber a rifle from 222 to 223 etc do you have to let the cfc you have done this ? What if you make a switch barrel rifle?

Unfortunately yes. Bill C10A that recently was put into law requires you to notify the CFC of caliber changes now. Barrel length changes don't have to be reported but multi caliber/switch barrel guns need to have the different caliber barrels listed.
I guess an arguement could be made that going from .222rem to .223rem isn't a caliber change..........still .22cal.:)

The only time I tried to notify the CFC of a caliber change, they insisted I should take the rifle to a verifier. My response was to tell them that I had given them the information and they could do whatever they wanted with it. Guy on the other end seemed a little miffed but, Oh, well!
The truth is, all of my rifles are likely to change caliber at any time for any reason so I just can't be bothered with it. In addition, on none of my certificates is caliber mentioned so I don't see the point. Regards, Bill.

And where on your paperwork does it show the caliber? - dan
I am justing going by an experience.I changed a 270win into an '06.When I called to inquire about the paperwork they just changed their paperwork and sent me a new reg number for the new barreled rifle.
I believe if you are stopped by the RCMP and you have rifles in your posession, your registration numbers better match the caliber in the registries records or you won't be taking that rifle anywhere.

I believe you have 30 days to inform the registry of changes. I just installed that barrel last week, it may not shoot well enough for my needs and I may reinstall the original barrel next week...

Ahhh, our tax dollars hard at work making legal gun owners jump though hoops while letting the criminals get away with murder (literally).

It's going to be a shame and a blessing when all this information is rendered usless when and if the scrap the whole useless thing.
