I really like the new chamberings in the No.1

RSI - .257 Roberts
1-A - .280 Rem
1-S - 9.3x62

Very sensible and useful chamberings, imo.

Are any of you planning on snagging one?

First Prophet River is getting the .275 Rigby's and now you hit with me with this....? You're evil 1899! How am I ever going to give a home to a nice new Tavor at this rate? Ugh...Life can be soooo complicated at times.....:D

I'd love to have one in .366 Wagner, but down here on Van. Island, the deer are so small that a .243 is more than adequate ... :/

The .257 Bob would be even more "more than adequate..."

So says the little devil on the other shoulder...

Its not as bad as it first appears...

The .275 Rigby renders the .257 Bob and the .280 Rem pointless... So you only need one other... With the "Rig & Wag" you've got all the bases covered...

With a large run of brass and loaded ammo? .280 Ross..................or a .470 NE in the tropical.

I found just the opposite.... my 257 Roberts rendered my 280s and my 7X57 pointless so I got rid of them and never looked back.
To each their own....

Sure, but he already said that he wanted the Rigby... any one of the three will cover medium game... and then there's the WAG... for when you just need more...

I have my 257 bob on order from EPPS,told they have only ordered 3 shot show specials,RSI #1 WILL BE SWEET IN THIS CAL.I love my single shots,do most of my hunting with one.It will be my new deer gun, already stocking up on 120 gr.noslers and 110 accubonds and also my favorite 100 ttsx from Barnes.I also have had a rsi #1,in 7x57 never should of sold, and a 243,and 3006.Just love the way they handle.
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY

After owning and shooting a bunch of No.1's and No.3's, I still prefer the Martini action over the Ruger.
A nicely built rifle on this action just looks & feels right to me and is generally more accurate, gun-for-gun
due to the stocking set-up and faster locktime of the Martini-Henry action.

Though it's best suited as a rimmed cartridge action is no worry as there are more than enough rimmed cartridges to choose from which will do the job as well as most any rimless designs.

I wish someone like Miroku or Uberti would remake these in traditional chamberings as well as some modern ones. Put me down for one in .25-35 Win. & another in .375 Win.;)

I shoulda grabbed a .22 Hornet No.1 or 3 back in the day...Those puppies would be fun.:)

Adequate...bite your tongue. What about the bears man? Da bears!!!

Da bears? .. Hmm, well .. the last 2 that came into my yard I scared off by just making a loud noise.
And if I wanted to shoot one, I've got a few rifles in the safe that will do that job nicely .. but ..
but iffn I do shoot one, what then? ... apparently taxidermists charge $100's ($1000's ?) to make a rug outa one .. soo .. *shrugs and "bites tongue" *
