Just curious,..any rifles in this latest shipment that are not from arsenal /606\ ?The weight difference is noticable,..stock seems solid, but damn the mold line is rough...

you could buff that, degrease it and fill it with epoxy putty pretty easily....... i might try and find one of these rifles myself, thanx for the pics

I wouldn't try to change anything about these rifles.
They are far from the nicest SKS out there fit and finish wise but are interesting and desirable nonetheless.
Mechanically they shoot as well as ant other, nice triggers on these in particular.
Yes the mold line is pronounced (actually not even a mold line, the stock was molded in two halves then bonded together), and the fit of the stock to the rifle isn't inspired, very roughly done. But the stocks are distinctive, enjoy them for what they are.

The rifles are nice representative examples of late Chinese production and extremely collectible, especially being the condition they're in is factory new unfired. They shot as well as any other SKS, and the stocks while ugly ( I think they look cool) are tough. Shoot them or collect them the Chinese SKS are the best buy on the gun market right now.

No matter how many SKS in your collection the jungle stocks are a good addition to it.

Anyone's who been into guns for at least a few years is missing the old days. Well as long as these can be had at $500 and you can still get ammo by the case the times are still good.

Yeah...fixing it would not be hard, but I believe she will stay as she came off the assembly line..The stock is ugly, but its solid...Do they all look like that I wonder...

Mine is similar. I like how this batch didn’t have a speck of rust on it though. The latest French tickler batch has minor pitting in certain areas (although still damn clean for something made in the 70s)

Weird. Did you see that pitting with your own eyes on an out-of-the box "French Tickler"? My "French Tickler" is absolutely immaculate. No spec of rust anywhere. Bluing is superb. May be, someone was shooting corrosive and didn't clean properly and rust appeared? By comparison with the "Jungle Stock", the "French Tickler" looks hundred times better.

why are those rifles being called french ticklers???? who coined that phrase ? and why is is always in quotations LOL
because of a plastic handguard? seems damn silly to me LOL
it's a chinese rifle not a french one?
the internet is wierd.

It is what it is . I remember seeing these for sale in a surplus store in Downtown Toronto more years back than I can remember . $75 or $150 dollars each . I said what an ugly stock and never bought one . I would leave it original. if you fix it and decide to move it down the road later it's been altered . not worth as much .

45 - The 'French Tickler' and the "Jungle" are different rifles. Tenda has the Jungle for $10 LESS !!
EDIT !! - THE JUNGLE IS $10 LESS - my error - senior moment.

LOL you guys all talk like these are going to be uber valuable collectable rifles one day
It truly cracks me up.
This is Canada boys...... and it's an sks stock LOL
One would think that those stocks already in Canada.... being somewhat rare up until very recently.... would have crept up in value all these years. That simply isnt the case.
I was going to buy one a couple years ago and cast moulds of it for doing a run of stocks to put out there to try and keep the shop running. The seller had 4 of them and wanted 500shipped for the lot. (stocks only). I ended up shelfing the project and didn't buy them but they were from a fairly well known gunnie in surplus circles and he would be one of those that would have charged a premium had he thought they were at all collectable.
I mean to each his/her own.... I'm not trying to offend anyone but every time I read comments about "collectable" and SKS .... in Canada, I laugh really hard inside and sometimes even outloud.
Sure, some models have crept up in price but that is purely due to far less of them being availlable. That is a Supply vs Demand value , not a "collectable" value in my opinion.
A very small number of guys are trying to build collector value on certain sks models but in the end, they are worth what someone is willing to pay for them I guess..... or nothing at all when/if they get banned and confiscated

I understand that...... I just don't under stand why it's called a french tickler....... and not a chinese tickler LOL
is this another one of those millenial things?

45 - You're right on spot. The EE has some "Matching #s - except for mag" listed ca $1000+. My '51 tula was that and CT had it for $160 back in 2015. 9-years = 300% !! Sold 4-5 years ago and now a Tapco on hand. I agree that the 'ban' is prob coming but I hope we get a few more years  I only have a few left myself. ;) Just shooting whenever I can " Until The End ..."

Tenda simply increased the price of the "French Tickler" by $10 because they were selling hot. It used to be $499.99 a week or so ago. Simple capitalism at work.

A french tickler is a wink*nudge term for a ribbed "bedroom toy" so, I'm guessing the handguard reminded someone of what they had in their nightstand and boom, name stuck
