new chinese vs refub russian sks

Before you buy that plastic tactical stuff go to the store and see how cheap the plastic stock looks. I was going to bubba a SKS until I was at cabelas and daw the plastic stuff. Now I am leaving it original. I like the way the cleaning kit fits in the wood stock.

It was never my intention;)

I have found both available for a couple canadian suppliers. One had refurb Russian ones and another one called leveraction had a crate of ten Chinese rifles for $1700

West rifle.com is getting a huge shipment of SKS in, I believe some are un-issued. I'm pretty sure it means not issued during war time but may have been used for training or parade use, but then I could be completely wrong. The guys at westrifle are on here, you could always ask them directly.

I know a guy and he made me a great deal were he works, a tula laminated stock matching number non fired( he says but i am not shure about that) for 200$

How would i check if its really non issued like he claims?

I guess i wasent clear:p i did buy that rifle

I just purchased a brand new Chinese SKS (56) from Marstar for $75. !!! The catch is you have to purchase 1,440 rounds of 7.62x39 for $285.
BUT. $360. for a complete setup with tons of ammo--- SICK DEAL! I'm happy...this is one purchase I didn't have to hide from the wife...lol

I have a Russian Tula 1953 refurb in great shape and 2 Type 56 Chinese and honestly yes the Russian wood is nicer but they all shoot about the same and really I don't find the Chinese stocks all that bad and seem to be lighter than the Russian.

Why is Chines "new" and Russian "refurbished" . Those Chinese rifles were manufactured in 60th and 70th. Those rifles were cleaned and parts replaced as Russians. Those Chinese rifle do not have stamps like Russian do. So I think the topic should be as always Russian or Chinese SKS

May be I should bring Chinese SKS !!!!

Nah, stick with the Russians. There's enough dealers selling the Chinese. I've got a few of each. What I need are those M-44's and 38's :)

New is New and Used is Used, it is not hard to choose.................

Definition of new please. Something that manufacture now is new. Something that manufacture 45+ is used in your opinion? Am I correct here or you?

What I am trying to say Chinese is not new as well as Russian is not new.

What is paratrooper?

Yes I am still working on M44 and M38

handled them both, I preffer the russian over the chinese but there is nothing wrong with either, if I was to buy one again for myself, i'd just buy the cheapest one I could find in original form.

The chinese SKS that many retailers sell are NOS (new old stock). They were made in the 1960's but never seen service, they were manufactured and packed in crates and remain there until they get here on canadian market. All that said, i still prefer russian SKS. Btw, i hope you will have IZZY in your next shipment? I will need a 1953 and a 54 for my collection:) The paratrooper is a chinese sks with a 16 inch barrel as far as i know but i dont care to have...

I would like to thank-you for educating the so called "expert SKS importer/dealer" on the the difference between new and used. I my opinion it is not hard to understand.

I have both the chinese and russian. The russian feels more solid to me.They are the same to shoot other than feel of the stock.I think the difference is the wood they use for the stock.Group size is the same from me with the same ammo 100meters.When i stretch it out and start shooting gongs at 300meters i notice the russian is better.More consistant hits with the russian.Rifles being compaired are:canam supplied chinese military sks, norinco new manufactured sks(pinned barrel),russian wood 1953,russian laminate 1954,and a russian laminate 1952.

I am a so called Russian "expert SKS importer/dealer" not Chinese. My biggest problem was that I could not understand that something that was manufactures in 60"s could be consider new. bjs7293 you can offend me all you want we being down that road before. I am still an importer and you are just one opinionated person. Good luck with that.
Joce I thank you for your explanation I will look for those IZZY for you. Please send me an email when those arrive just to remind me.
