New clay gun option, and hopefully my last

In the meantime before you get something else- try adding some weight to the buttock to move the balance rearward. If you take off the recoil pad there likely are some cavities you can insert some weight. Bringing the balance rear will make the gun feel more lively. Lead shot in some Ziplocks is my preferred option but many ways to skin that cat.

Ah yes good idea, I’ll see what I can do about it haha :)

I shoot skeet and sporting with my 682 Gold E 32” with the adjustable comb, absolutely love it. Picked it up maybe 6-7yrs ago used for $4200 I think, i would have ballparked it at $3,600-$3,900 now, but not considering giving it up. If it’s the one you know you want, don’t worry about overpaying by a couple hundred. Can’t go wrong with the 682 and it’ll last a lifetime.

Thanks for input, I’m starting to see that everyone is holding on theirs for dear life haha.

Whats wrong with being 'only 5'7" lol, it's served me well for many years. When you think you're short, just remember...theres always somebody shorter haha. As for clay guns I personally stick to Browning, they just fit me

The 692 got a bad rap early on but I had one of the later models made after Beretta sorted some of the issues out and I wouldn't hesitate to get another one at the right price. It was one of the best handling guns I've owned.
As for the 694, the current retail price seems to be in the neighborhood of $5,500 cdn and a substantial expenditure if your not exactly certain what you want. Having said that, they are getting very good reviews and I certainly like what Beretta has done but they're still new enough that it remains to be seen how they will hold up although I have no doubt that they will do well.
As I said before, it would be hard to go wrong with a good used 682 Gold E, it's a time proven target crushing machine! I've had two sporting models and a trap model called the 682 X that I paid $3,000 for used but in like brand new condition, it probably hadn't shot a thousand rounds at the time. My wife presently shoots a Gold E Sporting as well, she's the kind of shooter that keeps a gun forever... unlike me. The $4,400 dollar Goldy you mention would be worth around $3,500 at best out west where I live but it seems prices down east are a bit higher from what I see still, I'd not pay over $3,900 for that gun if it was in really nice condition. Other factors do play into the price though such as availability, what fits you and what you want so you have to figure out what it's worth to you.

Just get a O/U that's compatible with a TSK stock so you can adjust it to your body.

Thanks everyone for their input and advice.

mebiuspower, Very good point those stocks do seem like they are worth while, especially if I become a dedicated shooter haha.

Falconflyer, you made some very good points about the 692 and 694. If I were to go down the route of the 690's I will have another conversation haha, as for the price of the gold e, I will agree with you that it's to much even for what is it. I'll probably wait another week or so to inquire once again about it and see if he really wants to sell it, but as others have said, he's probably in a stronger bargaining position. I would add that perhaps your wife and I share a similar mentality, I don't like to have multi things that do essentially the same thing haha. I appreciate your advice as it's always incredibly helpful to hear from people who have first hand experience on the matter.

I assume it’s + tax but no clue. Also just saw a gold e on EE, private sale at $2800 in KW, ON, however, LH stock. Could always try restocking it and be in for a decent price if you’re a righty.

Yes I’ve spoken to the gentleman from the EE. The only place I can think of getting a new stock is from Cole’s which would run me 1200$ for a basic grade with an adjustable comb, maybe I’ll send him an offer later next week haha.

Well I have a RH stock with adjustable comb for a s680 I'll trade you if you purchase that gun lol. Someone with more knowledge may have to pitch in though. Not sure if they are interchangeable between the different 680 series.

An adjustable comb and butt plate can go a long way to help the fit. Im currently shooting a right handed 682 gold e trap left handed confortably using an adjustable butt plate and comb. The butt plate isnt all that expensive either.
