New Colt Canada MRR - PRE-ORDER *Now 16" avail for order*

Colt Canada website says the 18" is 18". Not 18.6, though that would be nice if AR's were to eventually be classified properly.

By who? The Liberals? Not a chance.

And we just had a majority Conservative government that could've done that with the new legislation but didn't, so I don't see this happening for a very, very, very looong time, if ever (probably never).

But anyway, those rifles look good. Thanks Reliable.

These really are sweet rifles, and the barrels are like nothing else(as some have mentioned above).

Had a good chat with Colt Canada about how they are built and there's no doubt why Mil/LE from around the world demand them.

All that Cold Hammer Forged one piece goodness.

My pre-order is in for one of each, with deposit. I might be skewing the numbers a bit, since I will fall under the IOP. We are still in for 14.5" and 16", whenever those come out.

I read that the 18" version barrel isn't chrome lined- I was ready to jump and now I'm pausing.

Same here. I love that setup, but why isn't the 18'' barrel chrome lined?

:(

What does chrome lining do? Increase barrel life for rapid firing rifles/MGs.

I suspect that rapid firing was not as important in a rifle meant as a DMR, than lets say accuracy?

The 18" was specificly told not to be chrome lined by military contracts, accuracy was the main concern. I don't get the chrome line debate in high end military contract AR's.... Don't care what competition level you are at you are not putting more rounds down range then them. The chrome lining in the shorter barrels were ment to help barrel life in Full auto scenarios over years of service life. Your 400 rounds ever other weekend are not going to be an issue for this cold forged barrel.

Might as well just complain it's not NR and move on.

Chrome lining also protects the barrel from corrosion and improves reliability when dirty or in wet/humid environments. That's why most military rifles after ww2 got chrome lined parts. It's not only about full auto.

I might be in for a 16" upper, depending on price...

Now ow that the IOP is out, should I call back to make sure my order is processed properly?

what makes this rifle worth the price?

Sadly I'm asking myself the same thing. I was a little disappointed at how basic the rifles are given their initial release and how they were pictured.

For example, I was hoping for the better C9 flash hider, enhanced trigger guard and a price in the $2000 range. The 11.6" after tax will be around $2500.

This is NOT a complaint on the rifle, the product or reliable. I'm just commenting that currently, it's too rich for my blood.
