New competition range box.

It looks like a new version of the old Pachmayr box favoured by bullseye shooters.

How heavy is this? Looks like it’s only for handguns? And do you lug it from stage to stage or on a trolley? The good thing about it is it doesn’t look like a gun case and it’s secure when you travel in hotel rooms.

NRA (bullseye-type) competitors would place it on the table at the firing line. You'll notice that the spotting scope is actually mounted on the case, so you don't necessarily need a tripod. The bottom tray can be used for ammunition, and everything else that you would need for that specific sport. The top tray is intended for handguns (held upright, in a multiclamp).

If you do a YouTube search for 'NRA pistol competition' you'll see that style of case in use.

A seller threw one in on a (gun) deal once, otherwise I wouldn't have known either. I still have the case, although I've never used it. My case's multiclamp wasn't really designed to work with secure locking devices. And the case, when packed with a lot of ammunition, gets heavy, almost too heavy for the handle. Clearly, it was engineered around the needs of NRA bullseye, rather than IPSC.

Bulls eye competition. This box sits at the firing line with you. Holds everything pointing downrange and you work thru calibres and increasing yardage. It's also designed for legal transportation and storage. Loaded weight is about 25 lbs. It goes from trunk to firing line. Your not running and gunning with it slung under your arm.
