New Coyote Gun (Non Restricted ACR)

Ok, you talked me into posting some pics.

My ACR as it came from the EE minus the Specter DR I already had and stole off one of my AR's. No I don't have enough mags ;)

With the non restricted 223 Herron barrel, 1:8 twist Wylde chamber. The Rainier mini comp has been swapped out for a S&J linear comp, keeps the noise down during hunting.

This is my 300 Blackout barrel compliments of Suputin (1:8 twist) during initial fit testing, this one has shown me sub moa using 155gr A-max projectiles over A1680.

All safe and sound in the Pelican. This was before I bought the Leupold for it and the extra barrel is the Questar 6.8SPC II which I'm still working on getting the kinks out on. Should have time to get back working at that one after Christmas.

Jeez, makes me want one bad. I preordered one of the DMR's but who knows what the timeline is going to be like on that with Remington moving recently.

Are Coyote Brown models in stock anywhere in the country?

I've seen very few Coyote Brown models - I'd give my left nut for one actually. Much more 'unique' looking in my opinion.

The DMR - keep waiting - it's only been promised for 4+ years. My GUESS is that you're looking at 2016 before we see any being made, let alone in-country.

Speaking of the DMR, I read some good news about them the other day. I had originally though that they were just going to get a longer version of the current hammer forged 16 inch but they are actually going to be getting a stainless melonite treated barrel.
Still no word on delivery but at least they should actually shoot better than the 16 inch if they do ever come.
One of my buddy's has a brown one, maybe he'll post a couple pics soon.

Ah, another sl8 convert, welcome !

My bartlein barrelled acr was also built by Ian. Has an affinity for hornady 75 bthp with n135 powder.

N135 powder on the top target, n140 on the bottom, with 75 grain bthp hornady projectiles.

You know a guy is serious when he has two chargemasters :)

Nice rifle, that is an awesome range there.

Ah, another sl8 convert

I still like my SL8 better then the ACR. Since my conversion, it's not as accurate, and now restricted, but I enjoy the platform and the magazines more. I would buy a second SL8 before a second ACR. I'm waiting for those new "G36" rifles. Probably getting a couple. 9.25" version and a 18.5" version.

Current configuration

Very nice ntm. That's the Vortex 2.5-10 right? How do you like it? I have one sitting here waiting to be put on a black (brown?) rifle that I don't have yet. :)

I found the bartlein acr to be more accurate than my sl8 was.
I'm saving all my pennies for the desert tech bull pup. An accurate non restricted bull pup is the thing dreams are made of...

I would assume a custom match bartlein would be more accurate then a factory SL8 barrel. I wonder what the results would be between ACR DMR and SL8.

SL8 uses a Lothar Walther hammer forged barrel and the new ACR DMR is going to have a stainless melonite treated barrel. I would guess they will both be capable of just slightly better than 1 moa depending on ammunition and shooter ability.
