New coyote rig needs finishing touch's

I've just bought a Tikka T3 in 204 and topped it with a 6-18x40 VXII Leupold. She's a shooter, but I think smaller power would be nice for closer shots.
Good luck.

My T3 (.204) wears a Bushnell 6500, it is hard to beat a scope that has a 16X zoom and can be cranked down to 2.5X for close range. It has shot it's share of coyotes and I have no complaints.

I need to upgrade my coyote rifle glass as well. I currently have a 4-16x40 and I think the power range is perfect for how I hunt. It would be useful to have a 50mm objective though for low light conditions.

As for the z-plex reticle, it is great if you are using factory type loads and open areas. Sure you can make it work to your loads, and commit the corresponding holds to memory. I think it is a bit cluttered for use inside a bush though. Too many distractions and options to consider in a short time.

A good 4-12x40 is the perfect coyote scope. I would look at the Vortex, every bit as good as Leupold, warranty is as good if not better and they cost hundreds less. They also have a number of reticles to pick from.

My Tikka Varmit(8" twist) shoots well with Sierra 63 gr. semi-pointed bullets. Its the one bullet that shoots accurately with the restricted O.A.L., due to the mag dimensions.3040 fps at 12 feet. Scope is a Zeiss 4.5x14. That's my version of a coyote rifle. C1A1

Hello scott_r,
Who sells Vortex here in Canada?
Do you know if they have a warranty/repair shop here in Canada?
Thanks

I now see that Wholesale Sports sells them and know there are a few smaller dealers who sell them around Canada. I picked one up off a fellow CGN'er "crashman"

I had to have some minor work done on my Vortex binos and sent them direct to the factory but they do have a Canadian depot that takes care of the scopes from what I understand.

They are top notch guys, Ive called them and spoke with them on the phone. They really take pride in their optics as well as customer service.
