Pretty much owned/shot most of the handguns out there but never a CZ. In fact I've never actually ever held one or cared too.

In the local shooting store and they had a nice and pretty CZ staring at me, I stared back. I asked the clerk if I could see said firearm and when it slipped into my greasy palm it was nice. Not a little nice, but really nice. You know what I mean, right?

I then closed my eyes and brought up the pistol to aim against the wall, perfect. Just points so natural and it fit my hand so nice, did I say that already? I finger f**ked it for a few more minutes and gave it back to the nice man behind the counter who kept telling me too stop dry firing it. It was priced you see a bit more than what I have seen around the internet as I was in the most marked up sporting store in all of Alberta.

Anywhoooo,

Bought one from the forum today.

I've heard/read nothing but good things about this handgun and that was enought for me to drink the kool aid.

Where in Canada can one buy some extra magazines for it? Any tips to help shoot/maintain?

I'm broke from buying another P226, but when I get money for another gun, it's going to be a CZ75B, all-black no rail model. All bidness. I love those guns so much. :)
Congrats on your purchase.
Which particular model did you get?
I wish they still made the polish blued model.

Welcome to the cZ club Nester. The same thing happened to me int 80s except I bought it then and there. Have bought and sold few more since then. The trigger may feel a bit rough to start with, but it will smooth out quickly with use. As for magazines, I buy Mec-Gar. Mec-Gar makes the OEM magazines for cZ. I do not care for the plastic grips that come with the pistol and have changed most of mine for the cZ rubber grips which work well for me. Looking forward to a range report and photos.

I'll be bouncing around Calgary on friday and will check out the local gunstores and such. Pick up some more mags and perhaps some new rubber grips. More 9mm ammo might be an idea also

Yup, can't go wrong. I frequently shoot 2500-3500 rounds between cleanings and rarely get any hiccups. I dont know if you are into refinishing but the factory finish is tough as nails and any replacement would be a downgrade. It's seriously tough stuff! I put it in a solvent bath for an hour that removes Duracoat in a few minutes and it barely touched it.

Also, I've tried many grips on my CZ and found the VZ grips to be the best so far.

CZ Grips

Do you mind if I ask what your source for CZ grips is? I'm somewhat disapointed with the rubber grips of my new CZ75 SP-01 Shadow. The gun itself is great but the grip width of 1.43" is like trying to grip a 2X4. I found thin ones from CZ that give you a 1.13" grip width but CZ or CZ Custom wont ship outside the US. I sent an email to CRAFM in Montreal a couple of days ago but they have not replied.
Thanks,

VZ will ship direct from the US. If you call them to place the order they will give you the correct shipping charges, not the exorbitant ones listed on the site. Their shipping is still pricey, but not nearly as bad as their shipping calculator shows.

Yeah, call them. I got mine on the last day of the SHOT show from their booth but they said to just give them a call and they'll ship to Canada.

Just so you know, I'm running the Tactical Diamonds, I found the Diamond backs WAY too aggressive for my soft hands.. The girl at the booth said you can take the tips of the points off with wet sandpaper if you like. Just throwing that out there. I liked the FRAG texture but didn't care or the look, just personal preference. I really should have bought more from them at the show!
