Here's the response I just received from Matt Shuster at Iron Wood Designs. If the sets are priced comparably to the AK sets then we can probably expect a price of about $130 US. He didn't answer the question about shipping to Canada specifically, but he also didn't say no.

Yes, we are getting ready to get thoes sets developed.
I'll add you to the VZ list and contact you when they are available.
 
Numrich will not ship any VZ 58 parts, including wooden handguards or stock to Canada due to Department of State restrictions. I doubt that anyone else in US knowingly will either, since the penalties will be rather... severe.

Here is an e-mail I got from Numrich not too long ago when I attempted to place an order for a set of wood for VZ58:

Your order has been canceled. Per our US State Department regulations the CZ-58 is a restricted weapon. Parts for restricted weapons must be licensed for export with our State Department. However our Company does not process items that must be licensed for export.

if those come up for sale here for that price that means i need another 858
those .223 ones coming in soon kinda peaked my interest anyway so why not?
 
I was likely the first to contact Matt about 3 years ago. They have been in the works ever since. ;) Since then I have made six stocks with hand tools. Get the point?
 
To be more accuate, it was 1 pistol grips, two different foregrips and three buttstocks. There was also a buttstock and a two foregrip failures. Remember, I do these all by hand, by sight and without a template.

My first stock was this add on to the folder. I then painted it to look like the composite.

At the same time I made the pistol grip. Then I made a foregrip of my own shape. I called it 'teardrop.' It was an adaptation of the Romanian type, but short and wide and teardrop shaped. It allowed the magazine to come out fully. To be honest that project started out as a Romanian pattern and I traced an actual Romanian grip. Mistake. I started over and moved it forward. Fail. I started over and changed the shape. It was very ergonomic, but very odd looking. People here thought it looked weird, but it really was a great add on. I then worked on the ergonomic buttstock of my own shape. Imagine a swept look. I based it off this picture. Have you seen it? If not, let me know.

The rest you know. The point is, of course, that I solicited the commercial stock years ago and in that time made a bunch with hand tools.
