After waiting a month for the transfer to go through i now have my CZ P-07 Duty in my hands. I immediately took it out to the range this past weekend and did nothing but shoot it. I love it, granted it's my first pistol so my perspective is quite limited(all i know is i don't like Glocks, I've tried out my friend's and they just don't feel comfortable in my hands) She fits me like a glove and as far as i can tell is easy to shoot. Contrary to the reviews I've read the disassembly of the pistol was not as hard as they had suggested. the slide release was a bit tight but i managed to get it out no problem once i figured out how far back i needed to push the slide. One thing i quickly learned is that due to the short slide it was hard to rack the slide as you would other pistols, i ended up developing a grab where i pretend i have no thumb and just grab it with my four fingers and my palm.

i put 120 rounds through her so far and not a single problem yet.

i have only two complaints and they are minor things that speak more of my preference than the gun itself. Contrary to whats advertised by CZ, our Canadian models come with the safety installed and do not include the decocker set. Not that that's a major issue for me, i just figured i'd get more use out of a decocker than i would a safety and it would have been nice to have the option included instead of now having to buy it separately. The second thing is that instead of the 3 dot sights, which i prefer as i have an easier time lining those up, we get the box sights.

pictures may come if i can pull my head out of my arse and properly operate the camera. no target pics, i'll get laughed at for sure, maybe after i get some more practice.

would anyone happen to know if sights for the CZ 75 fit on the P-07?

(added photos!)

Congrats dude I have the same gun, I love it. Call CZ USA (Don't email they won't reply) and they should send you the decocker. Even some P07 in the states were sold with the safety installed and no decocker in the box. As for sights and everything CZ check this out http://czcustom.com/

Just an update now that i've had a decent amount of trigger time.

range day 1: 50rds 115gr AE, 50rds 124gr AE, 20rds 115gr Blazer Aluminum - pistol ran perfectly with no issues

range day 2: 100rds 115gr Blazer Brass - 1x failure to extract with the 115gr, otherwise ran flawlessly

range day 3: 150rds 150gr Blazer Brass, 50rds 124gr Blazer Brass - ~6x failure to extract with 115gr, 1x failure to extract with 124gr.

FTE description: case partially extracted about 2-3mm, minor scratch where extractor is expected to contact the case. next round is partially pushed forward and wedged under the case that failed to extract. All FTEs were identical.

That's a beautiful pistol. A friend took me as a guest and shot it in a nice grouping. It is both accurate and consistent for me. I have this on my list and hope to get one soon.

Have you tried cleaning the chamber and around the extractor?

Good looking gun. Hope it works out for you! I debated eternally with myself over whether to get a P-07 or a G17. I was upset to see that my CZ Shadow mags wouldn't fit the P-07.. and fit/finish was a little lacking on the Duty. I ended up with the G17.

I'd be more interested in a CZ75D compact model coming to Canada - with finish more similar to my Shadow:

You're getting FTE's already? Lube that sucker up good, mine has been flawlessly accurate in function and operation.

I have run thousands of rounds through mine with a hefty amount of abuse. Heck the only time I had failure to anything was crawling in the dirt during a tactical course between 2 covered barrels and I managed to get a ladel full of muddy gravel up inside the action.

I clean everything after every time i shoot it.

i feel i put a decent amount of lube on and now that i think about it that might be the problem. after my first cleaning a put a single drop of (i use slip2000) lube on the extractor and let it seep under. could that be attracting carbon and dust and gunking it up just enough to make it not fully hold onto the round?

i am leaning on the idea that i'm not doing something properly during maintenance and not a mechanical failure since the problem didnt happen on the first day and has compounded since the second.

i've also noticed during cleaning that the extractor is slightly closer to the face at the top and just a tad farther away at the bottom, is this the same for you chuck?

I've cleaned out behind the extractor again just in case and i must say there wasn't a lot back there and i doubt what was could have been causing the problems. On my 4th time out with the pistol i only had 2 FTE out of 150 rounds, 115gr blazer brass. I now have a fairly solid suspicion that it's user error, and is caused by rounds not being properly seated in the magazine. on range day 1, i loaded all rounds manually by hand ensuring all rounds were fully seating to the rear of the magazine and had no problems. Range day 2 and on i loaded via an uplula. i noticed at times that rounds would have slid forward when removing the device and pushed the round back by hand, on days 2 and 3 i had repeated FTEs. Day 4 i decided to give each mag a good tap against a padded surface after loading to seat the rounds, as a result i only had two FTE on the first and second mag, which were ones that i tapped rather lightly. Subsequent mags were smacked a bit harder and more firmly against the table, no more FTEs.

after some inspection on my part i found that a round thats too far forward on a mag will be tilted upward at the front. this may be enough so that when the slide comes back the front end of the cartridge pushes up on the casing being extracted and displaces it enough to come out of the extractor.
