In the US the flash hider/muzzle brake is counted towards the barrel length so not a big issue as long as the barrel is 14 1/2" or longer. Anything under 16" is also OK as long as it's for a pistol AR.

Only if the muzzle device is an integrated part of the barrel and can not be removed. If you have an M4 with a standard A2 bird cage it has to be welded or blind pinned and welded.

HI ;I do not have one yet. But something like smith Wesson sport model, flat top, carbine length at a modest price could get me into the game. Rifle twist good for most bullet weights.

P.S. I saw on YOU TUBE American soldiers giving home guard troops in Iraq rebuilt Vietnam looking full stock 20 inch barrels rifles to carry around.
