New Defiance Outcast Actions

Ordered these new actions back in the spring, and just arrived. Little late for this years ML season (got my buck last week) I hope to have them completed for next year.

While not BP, these will become .458 muzzleloaders, of the smokeless variety.

Anyone have any experience with Arrowhead or Hankins breech plug - ignition systems?

Have some .458 carbon benchmark barrels with 6'' shanks incoming as well.

Arrowhead or Hankins breech plug - ignition systems are pretty much on par with each other. Probably boils down to whichever one you can get. Both are great and have excellent support networks.

Are you willing to share who brought the actions in for you and how much they cost? I regret not getting a converted R700 when Ken Theissen was selling them. This seems like a great alternative.

I brought these ones in from Gary at BigHorn Arms in BC.

I believe he’s selling them for around $1500 or so now, +/- a few dollars depending on exchange at time of import.
