New Desert Eagle quality issues

ohh f**k you guys are making me cryy its my dream gun but no money

you just have to keep your eyes open. i payed $1100 for mine and its a mk.19 with fluted barrel and every thing. i traded a gun on it for another $400 off. you just need to keep looking.

the Mk1s can go for under $1000.

the new ones are not as nice QC wise. buy a used Israeli one.

i found with those grips they couldnt go tight enough on mine. Scratched the s**t out of the under side.
Went back to the houge.

Mine would shift a bit when shooting after I first put them on, so I took some black 3M vinyl and and did a overlay on the inside of the grips where they come in contact with the gun, used a bit of blue locktite on the screws and now they are tight and don't move at all, this also protects the finish on the gun where they touch.

Shameful to say...but the DE is the one handgun I have no use for but still want like a fat kid wants chocolate...I have fired it and it's an absolute hoot...but man it's pricey (as is the ammo).

Why shameful? Don't let bullies dictate your taste. Unless you're in law enforcement or military, this is a hobby (in which case, running around on the job with a gold deagle may require a time-out). No one's preferences are any more legitimate than anyone else's.

thanks i will keep that in mind. for some reason im not into handguns, i only have 2 handguns glock and 1911, and im not gonna get more so i dont look at PISTOL EE. if you know anyone that wants to sell theirs for 1000 in 50AE let me know please thank you

I took a friend of mine shooting today. I started her off with an AA .22lr kit on my G20. Then went to the .40 conversion barrel and finally to the bad boy .50AE. Here's the vid of her shooting my DE.

You see vids on Youtube where the guy just gives a girl the Desert Eagle and says pull the trigger. That is an ignorant thing to do. All it does is scare them off shooting. Start with the small stuff and work up. Then you have someone you can go shooting with all the time. It's like an investment in the future.

Yeah, makes for great laughs but she won't be coming back. This way, even though she was really reluctant to even try, the 22 says "this is no big deal", then it's incremental, with each jump giving confedence for the next.

every girl i've taken shooting, always work up to the eagle, then blast away all my ammo, then complain how the 9mm is not the same. typical women, they say size doesn't matter, then lose interest when it is not big.......

Wow, this thread went in the opposite way I was expecting when I read the OP.....

I personally have had a hard-on for DE's for quite some time..... Before Snatch made them popular in fact.....

Unfortunatley everytime I get to shoot one, FTF or FTE...... To date I have fired 8 different DEs, 3 in 50 and 5 in 44 (a few of them on more than one occasion). Every single one had at least one stoppage per mag!!

So I have walked away from them with a small part of me crying inside every time I see one on a g-store shelf or at a g-show.

I still kinda want one, but I don't 2 grand want one......

YMMV
Cheers!

You can not limp wrist them at all, you must hold them firm for the gas system to function, some are pickier then others, also dont push up on the mag with your support hand. If when shooting the empty casing is going over your head or close to your face then hold it firmer and don't lift the gun expecting the recoil. If the casings are clearing nicely to the right of you all will be good, I made the mistake of lifting on recoil once and a casing claimed a pair of Oakleys on me when it marked the lens right in the center :(

Deagles are like fat chicks.

Not the most reliable
Unusually heavy
Large openings
Thin guns look even thinner when a Desert Eagle is in the room
They're expensive to feed
You rarely take them out

If you can overlook those small issues:

Everyone secretly longs for a shot at/with one
They are fun to discharge
Great bang
Everyone stares at you when you are holding one
They are front heavy

All in all, I like mine (eagle that is!)

Best review ever!:D

Factory is $3.50 or so. I reload so it's around .80 cents per. There is an indoor range in Coquitlam, BC that charges $9 per round.

You must mean DVC Ventures, since it seems to be the only commercial indoor range around these parts.

hmmm... 8 bucks for 1 + HST... Mind you, you do get 5 for 30, so there's a volume discount?

Same pricing for .460 S&W, .500 S&W, and .45-70 too
