New Detachable shotshell Carrier

Simon,

If you were to attach a 2 shot version to the pump/fore end of a Mossberg or Rem, would the shells come out under repeated cycling? I would want to mount it horizontally, and pull the shell out to the rear! Would the (glue) or sticky part stick to a Hogue fore end?

I have not tryed that yet all i have done so far with the 2 shot is put in on the port side of a gun back a few inches.

Ok.......

I am looking for a solution to a problem.....

I have some ideas of how that may work...and not the manufacturing background to make it work! What you have, would solve a loading problem with pump guns, if we could make it stick to the fore end, a work:D

I am currently talking to a friend of mine who happens to be a machinist.

I am working on a design similar to the California Comp Works shell caddies but in a smaller, slimmer form that holds two shells for the purpose of mounting on a forend.

The hardest part is coming up with something simple enough to consume alot of time making that works right (and that doesn't interfere with his schedule)

I think a shell caddy works best when mounted on the forend because of body mechanics (hard to explain my crazy idea)

Hopefully he can clear his timetable for me so I can get this started :)

BBB...

Is the webbing tight enough to hold 20 gauge shells?

If so I need a 4-5 rounder for my Ithaca 20 gauge! It is bloody tough to get stuff for the Ithaca, there isn't near as much out there as there is for the likes of the Remington and Mossbergs.

The 20 gauge is one of my regular use guns..if this strip works I would be very happy to say the least! :D

What about selling the strips minus the receiver sticky side for outfitting the go bags? I would like several of the strips, for different shotguns and bags...but don't need like six receiver strips, just the extra strips of loops to slap on the receiver when the other one is empty.

I will check on the 20 ga idea, the loops are really tight but i did not think of that.
yes sould sell the carrier without the sticky strip, taje a little bit off the price.
back at you later .

No problem. If you haVe an idea and not the people to make it happen. We do, feel free to pm me with details maybe we can work togeather on the idea

I second that!.

Simon is very open and receptive to suggestions and ideas.

I have already spoken to Simon about the two shells on the forend idea and once I have something tangible, I intend to submit a sample to Simon for criticism/ideas/design improvements and to see if it is viable for mass production on his end.

S&J has been the only crew singlehandedly cranking out really cool stuff for shotguns and I jump at the chance to be able to contribute to any ideas/possible ideas.

Let me be clear: don't misunderstand me or my motivations, I am not a dealer or a business. I just want to contribute to something positive and assist in developing ideas an solutions to things that noone ever asks :)

What about a blank piece to stick on over the Velcro on the receiver to keep it from getting full of junk if your using the gun for something else and don't have the shell carrier on it.
Like Courtntan’s “tactical” turkey gun.If your shotgun is multi-purpose and you don’t always carry the shell holder on it and your doing a lot of bush walking or sitting in a camo'd blind I would think the Velcro could get loaded up with bit of grasses, burrs, stickers, burlap.
Problem or not?

Awesome! Let us know.

I have found that 20 gauge works in most 12 gauge elastic loops...for awhile. The cheap stuff loses the elasticity pretty quick and then won't hold the smaller shells. Good loops last for quite awhile.

If it works for 20 gauge..16 gauge will be no problem either.;)

I can attest that sticking a shell carrier to the receiver does work well. I actually used outdoor high strength double stick tape from Canadian Tire to stick a Mesa Tactical six shot carrier to my Mossbery 590. You can actually hold on to the carrier and shake the shotgun without it coming off. This is an A1 SPX so it's a heavy shotgun. I have had it out in the rain and snow, no issues so I can see these new carriers working well.

If they don't end up sticking well one can always add the Canadian Tire high strength outdoor double stick tape. :p

Nice offering Simon!

Here is out new 12ga Detachable shotshell Carriers

They look great... but you announced them one day after I bought a similar product from 3gungear (for more money, even before shipping etc.).

Will try yours out and compare.

Should work nicely on the non-cheek side of the KSG buttstock - would put the shells right by the loading gate.

A key advantage over the hard shellholders: easy fit in a standard case on your way to the range.

Sorry dude:redface:
well least you know where to het extra ones from now :)

SFRC and One shot tactical now have them in stock.
Going to pop down see the boys at target sports this week see how that gos

This makes my taco pop. The shotgun rack in my PC does not allow the use of permanent shotshell carriers due to the design. This makes my life a whole lot easier to get ammo on my shotgun when getting out of the car.

Yes their is a small chance that could happen but the soft side ison the gun so less chance of0that

I just put them on the website and they are on sale like all of our other S&J items this month.
