WHAT TO BRING
your rifle(s)

you may want to have some spare change as rumour has it a few guys may have some items they may want to part with

Uhhhh..........I dont own a M14........But if by then marstar has them I will grab one and come out - maybe I will come out regardless and suck up some valuable information!

I am over in surrey my self!

I am in!

I've p.m.'d skullboy to see if he wants to attend.... waiting for reply
regardless, let's do this thing. My schedule can be arranged as needed, no worries there.... I am thinking near the end of the month as i have a couple hunts to get out of the way first.

things folks should get in adavance..... any accessories such as scope mounts, gas cylinder shims...... bring the stuff you will want to mod. I have a barrel vice, castlenut pliers , bolt stripping tool ect
what i don't have..... headspace gauges.... these would be handy to have if someone can bring along.

I'll let this thread go for a week and then i'll update the first post with pertinent info.

I'd love to come along, but the cost would be prohibitive. To complicate things, I'm moving from my (sold for the asking price :D) house to a rental on 26 Nov...

perhaps in the new year we can arrange a "wet coast clinic" and fly you out here barney. I would be in big time for hosting such an event at my place and would have the room to save you $$$ on hotel bill.
p.m. me if you like

x2...I've got room at my place for ya' (free bbq, board, and booze...) and if we can fly ya' into YXX (Abbotsford, for you city folk...) cost should be minimal...

Okay gentlemen... Another West Coast Clinic? I'm open to ideas.... You see this is all I need:

* Accomodation (I'm former grunt, I can be comfortable in any basement, Thermarest, spare bedroom, sleeping bag, etc)
* Ground transportation to and from the Airport, then to and from the Clinic classroom
* Clinic Classroom (Milcun had a range, too and so did the Abbotsford R&G Club)

For the coming Calgary Clinic next weekend of 10 Nov 2007, Savage is putting me up and also driving me around. Skullboy did the same back in the 2004 Abbotsford clinic. TSE (CGNutz Board sponsor) is providing the classroom space along with their building, well not the indoor range, but the building is ours to chill out inside)

* Food ? I'll arrange my own sandwiches from Tim's, Subway, or Pizza Slut :D

There ya go, some food for thought......

Timing.... I can... okay, hold up here... I gotta fly this by my OSA shooting schedule for next year. We've done TWO, count' em... TWO clinics this year and frankly, they are a very tiring affair, since it is a high energy investment on my part. You will be subject to a shztload of information processing in the 6 or 7 hours you spend with yours truly....

Hey, the Milcun clinic allowed a 2nd day component to shoot your M14 from 100 to 600m ranges. Now you can appreciate the level of learning and experience I/we provide (we, I mean OSA and their resources behind ME). ;) I cannot neglect my resources that stand behind me... w w w. Milcun.com

Thoughts ? Suggestions? Ideas ?

Heeeelllppppp.....

Anybody else watchin' this thread belong to the MDRGC.....?

I can meet all the 'off course' requirements, but suck hind t!tty on the venue...MDRGC has a great hall, and a 300m rifle range, but also a stuck in the dark ages 'one round only' rule for the rifle range...
Plus I ain't sure on gettin' access to the club house...next 'general meeting' is this Monday, so the more info the better...

Just throwing out a thought; the BCRA has studiously ignored the service rifle shooters. Maybe a single range day with a motivated mob of M14 shooters is a good carrot to demand/request/book a range day at Vokes Range in Chilliwack.

Service rifles get shot back to 600yds, service shooters get schmuzed by the BCRA, and the BCRA can rise to the terms of its mandate.

the chilliwack rod and gun guys are a nice bunch.... i spend a lot of time and $$$ at thier events related to fishing but haven't gotten involved with the range other than to visit from time to time.

As far as accomodations and transportation once here, I can fullfill that requirement in spades. Treat you to some gourmet west coast cuisine..... smoked deer roast.... my secret salmon... hehehe

Hungry, If we can put this together I'll dedicate as much time as needed to lay the ground work... I don't have many contacts for class room type space or range space but i do have a very large common area in my house that would fit probably up to 20 or so bodies possibly more.... we had a party of 50 over for halloween :D

Now regarding the m14 gathering at my place..... how does the weekend of Dec 1 and 2nd sound.... for those who wish to attend... please p.m. me so i have a head count... if that weekend does not work.... my schedule is extremely flexable but i'm going on two hunting trips between now and the 26th.

I'm in! Wherever in the Fraser Valley, if it is on the weekend I should be able to make it. I would love to see some of you gurus show how things are done and what is involved.

I'll bring the donuts if someone else brings the beer! :D
