Hey,

I, along with lots of you on here, collect not only milsup firearms but gear, uniforms, insignia etc...as well.
I had a brief conversation on here with Greentips about my idea and he wanted me to put it out there to the site.

My idea is a new EE section for no longer issued/milsup gear. No modern/current issue items as that could be put into the tactical/compitition section (with minimal change) and no civlian hunting/camping gear, as there is a section for that as well.

The "all other stuff" section would remain and the others would be cleared up if this were to happen, benifiting more users than just the milsup junkies....making it easier for all the non firearms EE sections.

This would help the EE users selling or searching for this genre of items, as they tend to be spread out between the 3 current sections and lots of search/filtering is required to find those items.

Just a thought, and if there is reception to this idea or if anyone has anything to add feel free. I will pitch it back to Greentips if there is lots of intrest.

I figured this is the best forum to start this on.

Sounds like a great idea!

I don't know if they could swing it as well, but it would be nice to have a Milsurp "parts" forum as well. Or just include it all into a "Misc Milsurp" section.

IMHO

Yeah, I can't see a milsup parts only section more than I can see a milsup gear/parts/accessories section as a whole being created.

Good idea though...it would be nice.

Keep'em comming as a show of support that this is a good idea will make it happen. I am testing the waters here in the milsup forum....I know the response will be a bit biased but this will go to the general forum if it gets a good reception here.

Militaria section,

Militaria are artifacts or replicas of military, police, etc., collected for their historical significance. Such antiques include firearms, swords, knives, and other weapons such as; uniforms, helmets, other military headgear, and armour; military orders and decorations; challenge coins and awards; badges, buttons and insignia; military art, sculpture, and prints; ephemera such as cigarette cards, photographs, antiquarian books, magazines and posters; scale models and toy soldiers; and items of combat equipment and field gear.

They have a section like this on Gunboards and it has done quite well with members posting their militaria items, uniforms, helmets, personal items...etc from WW1 and 2.

Thumbs up for my go ahead.

This is a awesome idea.It would be nice to have militaria and a milsurp parts on the EE.
It would also be nice to have a antique parts on the EE too!

Finally a place to advertize my highly collectable Stalin underwear (red & slightly faded) complete with scratch & sniff hershey's kiss....

All joking aside, I think this is a great idea.

I certainly would welcome such innovations, both the militaria and the parts fora. They could and likely would become well-used by a lot of people.

It would be great for me because then I could pester people for Kar. '71 nosecaps and slings, without it putting my long-distance bill through the roof.

I would be a definite 'plus'.
