Rails are angled to have upper and lower arrows to hit within 1.5" at 50 yrds.

This is insurance against a deflection from a stick or jumping the string or anything else that could go wrong, and the deer still hanging around.

Id never hope to need a 2nd shot, but with the draw force required to recock these new xbows, doing it from a treestand without spooking the deer seems impossible. So this would save your hunt if something went wrong with the first shot.

But lots of people hunt with single shot guns as well and never would buy a gun that could hold more than one round. Like bow hunters who only walk out to the woods with their single arrow.

The deer that do hang out after a noise are usually so pumped up and ready to bolt I'm not sure I'd take a second shot for fear of string jump unless real close in.

Anecdotally, my dad had 3 chances at a buck with his old barnett panzer ii. Deer had walked by the tree he paced at 30yrds, he missed low because he fwas aiming lower lung/heart and figured if the deer drops to jump the string he will get him lung, deer didnt react and moved away, he recocked by hand in a panic (no rope cockers back then) and because of the panick recock his serving wasnt alligned properly and he thinks he shot infront of it on his next shot. He still had time to recock and do a 3rd shot and he still doesnt know where it went. Again i am sure it was due to his panicked recocking by hand that screwed up his accuracy on the 2nd and 3rd shots but he didnt know back then.

Regardless, he went home with 3 less arrows and no deer that day.

Point being the deer stuck around and didnt react much to any of the shots. Today, though, you almost always need the rope cocker (and now crank cockers) to #### these new high powered xbows, which means you have to try to silently remove the rope cocker, set up on the xbow and have your foot in the stirrup while sitting in a tree stand and try cocking it without making much noise.

Back then with your hands and the xbow stock in your gut it wasnt so bad (but then you risk cocking it unevenly).

Anywho, i personally can see why they did it. 2223$ is out of my price range but i would definitely love to have a 2nd shot available just incase lol

Just more deer running around gut shot or with bolts sticking out of their heads...IMO, most of the guys buying these are gonna be the spray and pray gun hunters or guys who think a 50 plus yard shot with a xbow is ok.

Yet every other xbow now a days is advertising accuracy out to 100yrds. Which xbow hunters will wound more deer? The one trying a 100yrd shot, or someone who thinks having a follow up shot is a good idea incase he hits a branch he couldnt see or the deer jumps the string at 30yrds?

Do you think all rifle hunters go out and figure "hell, i got three shots i dont even need to look for the first two!"

Seems like only single shot rifles and shotguns should be allowed out in the woods. The rest are just yahoos lol

I luv hunting marmott with my R26 but with this double i guess the fun will be huge. I will buy from one of our dealer, not Cabelas.

I watched one of their advertisements saying good for 100 yds...... Excalibur IMO....should be a better leader/educator instead of making comments like....good to 100 yds....

This a far cry from when Bill made wooden crossbows in his garage.... Maybe I am wrong............. but I bet he is glad he is no longer the face of excalibur....

Not a bad idea... Different strokes for different folks. BUT anyone who's used an over/under shotgun for waterfowl has probably loaded two different loads for different situations.

Relate that to the TwinStrike. Load the top with a broadhead for the big game and the under for a small game broadhead for that pesky squirrel barking away. Or load it with two broadhead.... One for the coyote that pops out and still have one left ready to go for the deer.

Yep. This.

Also gonna be popular with hog hunters.

Huge difference between shooting a deer with archery versus gun. 50 yards plus is completely unethical in my opinion.....Sure the bows are easily accurate that far but there is too much that can and does go wrong when shooting at an animal...

PS...i would be totally fine with single shots only. Would likely make people better hunters and save a lot of wounded animals.

Yeah, it's brutal....sad to see this happening.
