New Excalibur Over/Under Crossbow Twinstrike

I played with my R26 at 100 yards, nothing serious just for fun.

Over the bags on a calm day, i did put 5 arrows in a steel pie plate. Hunting big games and shooting at more than 40 yards, i consider unethical.
Shooting at a marmott at 100 yards is plain fun and without consequences.

Seems like the archery guys have to deal with fudds too lol, why does the argument always come back to "you can't hunt a deer with that." Every. Time.

I think it looks like an amazing innovation, would definitely try it out if I had the opportunity.

P.S. not directed at anyone specific.cou:

A 50 yard shot with a modern, fast x bow is not unreasonable. Some of the new bows hit harder at 50 plus, then a 30 yard hit with an older bow.
IMHO

Just more deer running around gut shot or with bolts sticking out of their heads...IMO, most of the guys buying these are gonna be the spray and pray gun hunters or guys who think a 50 plus yard shot with a xbow is ok.

I watched one of their advertisements saying good for 100 yds...... Excalibur IMO....should be a better leader/educator instead of making comments like....good to 100 yds....

This a far cry from when Bill made wooden crossbows in his garage.... Maybe I am wrong............. but I bet he is glad he is no longer the face of excalibur....

Agree completely.

But wait, it gets better!

LOL, and just for the record, I think the TwinStrike is cool... Just not sure about the $2222.00 MSRP OUCH!!!

Yeah, it's brutal....sad to see this happening.

Back in the day we could expect a new model each year, which was often something new to actually be excited about. Then he sold to bowtech and excalibur started going downhill with very overpriced bows and the tiniest modifications in order to label it a different name so they can announce a "new" bow.

Excalibur is a joke compared to what it once was. I wonder if Bill regrets selling and allowing his company go in this direction.

Two arrows that group within 1.5 inch at 50 yards, i call that good indexation, when i shoot my R26 from the bag i can group easily within 1.5 inch at 50 yards, i give a lot of credit to Excalibur on this. Yep.

I see why some would want to buy this. I’ve seen a buck stick around to get shot at after a missed rifle shot, so no doubt plenty will with a missed bow shot. That said, it kind of defeats the purpose of bow hunting if you ask me.

I dunno.

I don’t think “time to take a follow-up shot” is what makes it “bow hunting”. If that were the case, we should scrutinize Traditional bows that allow a hunter to take ten shots in the time it takes a crossbow hunter to reload.

Valid point.

Regarding the double crossbow itself, I find carrying my 330 bulldog to be enough of a pain. I wouldn't want this double bow just based on weight and girth.

I agree 100% the original Excaliburs were great bows at an affordable price.Plain and functional. In the rare instance you had a problem you could get Bill on the phone and things would be resolved immediately, and almost always at no charge. Now its just American corporate greed running the company. New gimmicks at crazy prices is the norm from them.

For sure. My dads old Barnett Panzer II shot fine at 20yrds, but not much penetration compared to my Matrix 350. But what was really shocking was how bad it dropped at 30 and then 40yrds. Compared to my 350 that was dead on with the scope showing each chevron at 30,40,50 and 60, with good peneration at each distance. I would take a 50yrd shot no problem with mine. But with my dads id be worried about even a 30yrd shot.

Sad to see the excalibur name on this or any of the new excalibur crossbows for that matter at one point in time excalibur made good reliable products now not so much.
