This rifle has been on the drawing board for the last year and a half.
It started as a project to make a unique Deer hunting rifle for my son. After building this rifle with a Gaillard barrel, and a Stiller action I was impressed by the accuracy potential of this cartridge and I decided to try and turn this into a .25 cal F-Class competition rifle.
I finally got it all together and took it to the range this past weekend.
Barrel is a 1:9 twist Shilen match, 1.25 inch no taper that came from Jerry at Mystic Precision.
Action is a Barnard P08 single shot from Ian at Robertson's Composite.
Stock also from Ian's shop
Rest, is a Seb with F-class feet from Bob at Viper rests.
All of the gunsmithing was performed by Franciso Abusaid, who is a good friend and great smith.
My load consists of a Berger VLD 115 gn bullet, just touching the lands
Lapua .243 brass formed into the .25-243AI, then neck turned
RL-19 48.2 gns
Mvel is 3200fps.
Here is the prototype rifle.
Here are the pictures of the F-class rifle.

Here is the range report from July 5th
5 Shot groups at 100 yards, then best groups tried at 300 yards.
So far max velocity 3320fps, no signs of pressure yet.
Seems to like a lower velocity load for 100 yards, and a somewhat higher velocity for 300.
Hopefully I will get it out to 1000 yards in the next week or so.
