Well my rifle is finally ready. After a few "challenges" we'll call them, I finally have everything all sorted out. Big thanks to Peter Dobson for getting the stock to me quickly and pain free. The stock is a Dolphin Gun company modular stock. This particular one has the longer F/TR fore stock, a shorter tactical and a wider, F-Class open type, fore stock are also available afaik.

Here's the stock as it arrived.

Here's a couple pics of the whole rifle put together.

Looks quite nice. Betcha it'll shoot well, too!

Do you plan on shooting it with the Harris, or one of the snazzier FTR bipods out there?

With the the buttstock's "pin" (for want of a better word) that engages the rear bag being horizontal without any visible slope, I would guess that when you're setting up the rifle, all of the elevation setup has to be done in the bipod?

I'm going to the the Harris on for now, I used it last year and don't mind it at all.

You are right, the height would have to be "roughed in" using the bipod, and then a little bit of bag squeezing to fine-tune it. Sand bag that is.

Really nicely done - definate two-thumbs up w:h:

Which action is that?

Thanks man. It's a Barnard P action with a 30" Broughton Heavy Palma barrel (1-11" twist).

I'm really excited to try it out, haven't done any load development yet. I'm going to try it out with last years recipe to get a few shots fired, then do some load dev soon.

Verrrry nice. What is your all up weight, you must be pushing pretty close to the max for F/TR with a "P" and a heavy Palma?

I'm a little scared to weigh it to be honest :) I'll have to wait until this weekend to get an official weight. I put it on the bathroom scale and it was right in the middle of 15 and 20 lbs, but the margin of error on a bathroom scale allows for plenty of room to be overweight. I don't think it will be ridiculous, but definitely close. eek!

I have a Dolphin Trakker bipod, and if the quality of my bipod is any indication, you will be very happy with your stock. Mik was super to deal with as well.

I just visited their website and there is no mention of stock weight ( which will obviously change depending on what parts you use) or bedding style ( aside from stainless bedding bolts). Does your action bed into a V block or is the aluminum milled to the exact profile of the action?

Good luck with it! Looking forward to a range report, would love to hear your thoughts on the stock once you have shot it a bit.

The stock is milled to fit the action. It takes the same recoil spigot as the bedding block. I took a picture to show you what I mean.

I'll definitely get a range report up, just as soon as I can get to the range. :)

Nice rig man! Is that a sightron on there? Looks like itll shoot pimples off a teenager at a 1000 yards! Hope you enjoy it!!

Well I had the rifle to the range today. Due to all my last minute acquisitions, I didn't have any time to do load development. I used last years ammo recipe that I shot out of a different rifle. After I got on paper I shot a 50.7 at 300 yds, 50.7 at 500 yds and 50.8 at 600 yds, needless to say I was very happy. I'll likely do some fine tuning at some point, stock is great so far, really liking the pistol grip.

wow Ryan! Great looking rig! Great choice on your stock. Can't wait to see it up close. What weight bullets are you shooting?

Thanks Ken, I'm pretty pleased with it so far. I'm still shooting the 155 lapuas right now, I have some 178 BTHP's I may try and possibly some 185s as well. We'll see, I'm not the most ambitious reloader in the first place, so I usually end up sticking to once recipe if it works well :)
