New Finish

Parkerizing as a base first, than use the coating of your choice for the ultimate in protection.

Arwen Ace at TacOrd offers parkerize then KG Kote or Teflon. I went KG Kote, pictures will get posted when I have it back.

Powder Coating

I think if money is no object powder coating is the way to go. I've had a shotgun powder coated and it's a very good finish. I had mine done by Rocky Mountain Rifles in BC. That being said, parkerizing then spray coating should be enough protection for just about anybody.

Armacoated is EXCELLENT
If it can help you, this is 3 i have done, the top one is a BPS in stainless and black, sorry for the crappy pic...

Wow Sendero, very nicely done. What shade of green did you use on the 870? On most pics of Armacoat that I've seen the green normally appears more olive drab as opposed to the darker looking olive green that seems more typical of GunKote.
