For 2021 Smith & Wesson has announced that it will offer a limited edition kit, of which includes an exclusive version of the company’s full size M&P9 M2.0 Optic-Ready pistol. In addition, a unique fixed-blade knife and challenge coin come with the kit.

The exclusive M&P9 M2.0 pistol offered in this new kit from Smith & Wesson is a full-size pistol chambered for 9 mm Luger. As with all M&P9 M2.0 pistols, four interchangeable grip inserts are included. The gun comes standard suppressor-height night sights that include Tritium for added assurance. A 4.6” Armornite-treated stainless steel barrel is supplied with a threaded muzzle for use with a suppressor. Smith & Wesson provides a two-tone finish with its M&P9 M2.0 Spec Series pistol, utilizing Flat Dark Earth color on the slide and black polymer in the frame. An optic-ready kit wouldn’t be a kit without a supplied optic; the Spec Series kit affords users with a Crimson Trace CTS-1500 red-dot optic.

Further enhancing the S&W Spec Series kit is a hard case, custom-fit and fully loaded with aforementioned accessories. In addition, a M&P series full-tang knife and sheath are supplied. The fixed-blade boot knife provides a 9” overall length with 4.5” single-edge spear-point blade that features a corrosion-resistant, black-oxide finish. A two-tone polymer handle is provided along with a nylon sheath.

The M&P Spec Series kit will also provide aficionados with two 17-round magazines and a unique, die-struck challenge coin. The antique-finished coin is constructed of solid nickel and comes protected in a clear acrylic case. All told, retail pricing is set for $969. Did you buy a kit or do you just like it?

I just blew my gun account on a PPQ Navy otherwise I would be all over this pkg.

Cerakote slide
Useless threaded barrel
Bottom battery red dot(not a great one either)
Only 2 mags
Cheap tacky knife
Lame coin

Still an M&P...

Pass.

Put a Glock in the picture and I know you would be wetting your panties. The package sells into a market of 360 million people, oh ya and 36 million north of them. The suppressor thread extension works for the larger market where there is a demand. I nipped the threaded barrel off of my PPQ Navy to get myself a pistol for my IDPA CCP aspirations. Guns are like pretty ladies you just got to admire and explore the possibilities.

Nope, no interest in tacky add ons that offer zero value. Yes, for those who in a free country a threaded barrel is more valuable. Unfortunately no one carries a suppressed pistol and doing so is difficult. Suppressed handguns are mostly toys.

You remind me of another Calgary resident. You also remind me of the observation that "mud wrestling with a pig is a waste of energy. The pig loves it and you just get dirty.". One question, How in the hell would you know or have the first hand knowledge to make such a definitive statement? Have you ever owned such a pistol.? Never mind I know you will provide an answer.

And you feel the only benefit to a threaded longer barrel is a suppressor?

I've shot a good selection of suppressed guns including pistols. Super cool, would own a pistol can if I could, but far from practical for much of anything.

Have no use for a compensator, they do very little and limit/complicate holster options.

The foam cutting is terrible. Not only does it look like a 9 year old did it with a kitchen knife, but the magazine, pistol, red dot and grip panel cut-outs are all the wrong sizes. Was this "custom-fit" for a different kit? And if you actually mount the red dot, you have to make it look even worse.

So the longer barrel (125mm) wouldn't not provide better accuracy abilities over a (105mm) and reduce muzzle flip without the compensator/break.

No, longer barrels have nothing to do with accuracy. The added weight makes zero difference for muzzle flip as well. Good form is what controls recoil/flip.

I’m sorry ???

Longer barrels have nothing to do with accuracy? You lost all credibility with that statement.

Thats odd because when I go to the range with my 2 Beretta APX RDO 9mm one with the 105mm barrel the other with the 125mm barrel the longer barrel
definitely provides me less muzzle flip and better accuracy, when I add the muzzle break it is even more noticeable (in hand)

Or perhaps I just notice it more because of my single limb operation. Either way its a nice touch, besides a "cable lock and mag loader"
