I've taken my Dlask 870 8.5 inch out to the range for a few sessions. Very impressed with it, and alot of fun.
HOWEVER.....
I am NOT impressed with the fore-end. It looks cool, but there are two serious misgivings that make me question its use:
[1] The picatinny style rails - too damn sharp! Shooting this with anything but gloves, especially in cold weather when your skin is less pliable, is painful to say the least.
[2] The Strap - again, looks cool and different, but resulted in MULTIPLE jams and failures to feed. Why? Because the strap would interfere with the cycling of the gun by getting caught between the fore end and the end of the mag tube where it meets the action.
NOT GOOD in a stressful situation, especially if you are trying to get off a quick shot or two at an angry bruin at woods walking ranges!
My question is, are there any aftermarket fore ends that would fit this gun? (The fore end looks smaller in some regards to my other 870)
I would like a pistol grip fore end, or something that doesn't allow your supporting hand to creep in front of the barrel whilst firing. Any suggestions?
