Hello to everyone. Signed up last spring after getting my PAL while living in Vancouver, but haven't been very active on the boards since.

I just moved to Ottawa a few months ago, and will be joining the Smiths Falls Fish & Game Club this summer along with my Dad (my parents also recently moved to the area).

Good to be here :)

Well, actually, maybe you could recommend a range to me :) I am interested in 50/100/+ rifle, and possibly trap/skeet.

The Smiths Falls clubs looks pretty good, but I don't know the area that well so there might be another club I am overlooking.

Welcome too the forum. Lots of great information to be had here. For ranges, check out EOHC, the Eastern Ontario Handgun Club. We are an active club with covered pistol ranges & a nice 100/200 yard rifle range. EOHC is located next to Larose Forest just South of Chenny.

It depends which part of Ottawa you are in, I normally shoot rifles on private land and formal Clay games at Capital Trap and Skeet. I used to be a member at EOHC and it is a great range, probably the best in the area if you take all factors into account. Stittsville shooting range is also a nice facility with good ranges and a nice clay set up.I just don't like crowds of people watching me shoot.

yes and after the clean up we did last sunday and all the repaired, all the range look good at the exeption of the riffle range, still have lots of water in the parking lot.

Well, you have an invite by the Milsurp people and this is the one from the Cowboys and girls.
Come on out and give Cowboy Action Shooting a try!
Our home ranch is also at EOHC www.eohc.ca
Have a look at the cowboy website at www.ovmcowboys.ca for some good photos and the shooting schedule for this year.
If you don't have any cowboy type firearms, don't fret it.
We can fit you up to try a stage to see if it's your thing.
Our first shoot of the year is April 30.
Hope to see you there.
