Hey all! I'm from Mississauga, specifically, and just found about this site a few days back by accident on google
I am currently in University of Toronto getting a BA in geography and history (majors)
I am completely new to the world of guns, having gotten my Restricted and Non-restricted PAL over the course of the summer. However, I did settle on buying a VZ-58L as my first gun, seeing how I am interested in 20th century military history as well as the fact that 7.62x39 is plentiful and cheap compared to other types of ammunition.
However, I still haven't popped the cherry of shooting it yet, just dissassembling it. Need to get around to cleaning it but I don't know where to start and where to get the cleaning supplies from (Canadian tire has nothing). I also am trying to join the Burlington Rifle and Revolver Club as it is the nearest one to me that allows for centre-fire rifles
Really interesting forum here, lots of people and definitely the biggest group of Canadian gun nuts out there. I am already learning a ton of stuff, and good to see like-minded people here that I can hopefully contribute to as well.
