I got my new furniture from Rauch Tactical from Sean. Awesome service.

I also put a red dot system on it and it looks like a new rifle.
I have never used a red dot system before. Does having it so high above the stock make it difficult to sight in? Should I get lower rings?

With the picatanny system can I take the red dot off and put it back on without losing zero?

I can't wait for Rauch to get the rest of the goodies for my project.

I would recommend a smaller red dot. That one looks awful heavy and may tear up that polymer rail under recoil, also it will be very hard to get a cheekweld with it that high. You should hold a decent zero assuming it holds up to recoil but you should be prepared for a 1-2moa variance with removal and replacement

Looks good. I have the same furniture. I have a red dot and I can't adjust for any closer range than 50 yards as it sits so high. Not like I need it for 50 yard shots but you know what I'm saying.

I would recomend a burris fastfire on there if you want to mount a red dot. Marstar has a cheap MRD, I don't know anything about its quality though.

I ordered pretty much the same thing only in od green and without the t-pod and the red dot has a lower mount. The one you have looks like it is for an AR-15. How do you find the sight does it seem like a decent piece?

It is for an Ar15. It is a nice little piece of kit. I haven't had a chance to use it though. Its waterproof and can stand up to heavy recoil according to the box. Its pretty light also, so I'm not too worried about it tearing up the rails.

Eventually I want to put a M4 style butt stock on it as well as a muzzle brake.

Today I put lower rings on the red dot and took it to the range. Holy crap, this rifle is more accurate and consistant than my mini14 target. I have it set up for fifty yards for now. Sweet.

Would Microlon cut down on cleaning and corrosion?

Nice...I am going to try an Eotech on my FAB handguard, see how that does.

If you already have the eotech then I'm sure you will agree that the Eotech sits too high. If you don't have one already then get a burris fastfire, you'll be much happier.

I have the Eotech already, it was on another rifle for a while. I wonder how much higher it sits on the CZ than on an M14? I did not have a problem with that setup.

Everyone is different and every rifle is different. Throw it on the VZ and if you like it then run it. If not then, keep waiting for my next batch of MultiHeight stock adaptors to come in. :D

Hey Supra, for the VZ-58 family, how about a barrel mounted shelf with a stabilizing rear section on the gas port housing ears and different thickness mounting adapters for adjusting co-witness with any reflex sight?
Could be a nifty accessory!
PP.

We're working on a cowitness MRD mount as we speak. It should be ready for testing in a month and then release sometime in the summer. No details till then. :)

Cowitness is the ability to see the irons through your optic. A MRD is a Mini Red Dot, Aimpoint Micro, DrOptic, Burris Fastfire etc.
