new furniture for an OLD 740 Woodsmaster

My friends wood furniture on his OLD 740 Woodsmaster has finally given way.

I'm wondering what after market options are out there. Are there synthetic options out there. He has a short action 308.

You can order an aftermarket set from Champion or order a set from Remington. I ordered a set from Remington for my 7400 and it was $130 with 100% perfect fit

Short and long in the 740/742 and 7400 series rifles don't have any affect on anything other than the magazine. Actions are the same length. Wood from a 742 may fit, although wood from a 7400 (forend) most likely wouldn't without some work.

Won't a 870 butt stock fit? I put a pepper laminated stock on my 760 pump and dyed the fore-end black. Looks OK IMO.
