Brand New girsan compact stainless, first trip to the range. 105 rounds no problems 106 boom I'm bleeding from the face.

The right grip is in 3 pieces and the linkage that connects the trigger flew off. The slide is stuck the hammer is fully cocked trigger just flops around. Looking down the barrel there is an empty brass it looks like a good portion of the brass around the primer pocket and the primer is missing.

Round was either my dads reloads or wolf ammunition they where kinda mixed together. I think it was defective ammo probably one of my dads reloads. I dont think it was the gun.

Barrel looks good....

Is the gun toast?

I'm just really glad i walked away with both eyes and all my fingers.

I dropped it off at the gunsmith today he gave me this nice little memento.

Double charge for sure! Things like that dont just happen for no reason. (keep in mind if that was a plastic gun it's be toast)

Gun should be ok, but you need to remove the slide and inspect the internals to know for sure. Try working the slide back to remove the blown case, you'll probably scatch up the feedramp/frame if you try to take the slide off.

btw good to know you're ok. I'd replace the grips with rubber...

If it was just the linkage bar broken you might be able to fix it.
Take it to a gun smith to have every part check out. I doubt they will warranty this as you suggest it may be reload ammo (double load powder maybe?)

Take it to a qualified gunsmith. Oh and next time don't trust ammo you don't reload yourself. Even if its your dad.

Hopefully your are alive.

Glad your Okay,
Where abouts did it get you?
Thats horrible..
Even if its pooched, atleast its just a object and can be replaced, you cant.
get it looked over by a good smith!

Either the trigger bar or a piece of the grip got me in the right cheek below my eye. Cut is really small & Cleaned up nicely but it bled pretty good, man my wife was freaking out. Glad she didn't grab that mag id never get her to shoot anything but her 22 again... She felt so bad for me she told me that i could get a new gun.

I emailed pics to the local guy, probably see him this week.

That must have been quite the scary experience. I saw a Glock blow-up 5 feet in front of me during an IPSC match about 5 years ago from a probable double charge. Not fun, not fun at all! The shooter did not get cut like you but got his index finger seriously pinched (purple skin 2" long by 1/3" wide, Ouch!).

Glad you're OK.

wow! glad you are ok!

looks like the pistol took one for ya! polymer and it might have ended differently...

good thing is, they are cheap. Not sure I would fix that one, even if its possible. there is stress in that metal that might not show up I would think.
