New Glock 19!!!! But one small problem

I just recieved a new Glock 19 (with lonewolf 106mm barrel in black). I bought it from Questar online. This is the second handgun I have bought from them and they always ship super fast. The glock looks amazing, it's brand spankin' new and I can't wait to get to the range tonight with it!

... One small problem however. They did not include the transfer notice from the CFO with it!! f:P: I called them right away and spoke with Scott, he said the CFO didn't send them a copy, this happens sometimes, I will recieve it in the mail directly from them and to enjoy my gun.

So what would you do if this was you? Am I safe to take this to the range with only the invoice and no transfer notice?

I'm at work right now but will update this thread with pics of my new gal when I get home.

UPDATE:

Took this beaut to the range today. It's a sweet shooter! Shoots very accuratly, I got a sig p226 as well, and it shoots a little low, so i've learned to hold the sights high, but this Glock 19 shoots bang on. I got pretty big hands but this gun fits like a glove, the finger grooves are very comfortable for me. I really like the trigger too, nice ad crisp, and not too hard of a pull. I never shot a Glock 17 before but would love to for comparison. Aesthetically I think the Glock 19 just looks more proportioned compared to the 17/22. I don't mind the barrel sticking out either, I mean I wish it was flush, but hey its legal, and doesn't look that bad. Anywho here are a few pics I took with my phone;

I believe pc9 was referring to getting the fax from the CFO as opposed to the store.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure that in the interim you can use the reference number to prove the firearm is registered to you, however I wouldn't want to put that to the test with an uninformed LEO.

As long as the firearm in question is covered by your ATT, you should be good to go.

Bad news, just called the CFO, they confirmed the transfer and said it has been mailed out, but they refused to email or fax it to me. Very frustrating.

I've learned as a firearms holder that one must be extremly disciplined in his patience.

I hate waiting.
 
You don't have to have the transfer paper just the registration number! Same when you ship a firearm or pick it up from the post office! I have never waited for the paper! Same with a temp att you don't need a paper just a number! I have asked the cfo if you have to have the transder paper they told me as long as the transfer has happened and the firearm is registered in you name and you have the registration number you are fine! The transfer paper does nothing more for you then the receipt and registration number.

yea I'm thinking this as well, I have confirmed with the CFO that the firearm has been transfered and is registered under my name, papers are in the mail, and I have the ref#. My ATT says it's good for "any restricted firearms registered under [my name]" "to any approved range in Ontario" or something to that effect. I'm gonna go enjoy it at my club :)
 
I've learned with CFO, CFC (and all things really)

1. Not to leave important things to the last minute
2. Always expect the worst plan for it.
3. If you don't succeed the first time. Try again.
4. Be polite. Practice your manners and presentation.
5. If you are told "no" don't blame the operator ask for another solution.
6. and yes, be patient and realistic.

The CFC may be able to fax you a copy of the transfer notice or at least give you the new certificate number. The reference number should be on your Questar invoice.

You don't have to wait brother, when ever you want to go range, ask for a temp att, get them to email you, but mind you Att section don't work at Saturday.

I asked the CFO in AB and was told I was not allowed to transport a new restricted to the range even if I have the LATT, Transfer notice, etc. I was told I specifically needed the reg certificate in the mail to be legal....was a long wait sitting there looking at my new toys in the safe!

Then why are you allowed to pick it up at the store without the registration certificate?

F ckin idiots!

I would rather have terrible rules that I could actually follow that are clear and easy to understand than deal with all this bullsh t! There is absolutely no consistency between departments, and even CFO's. The CFC tells me something different everytime I talk to them. The storage regs are a completely impossible to interpret mess of legal B.S. The cops for the most part have no idea what is going on with regards to firearms laws. What a F ckin mess!!
 
I've actually never picked up a restricted from a store...all have been mailed to my house....the CFO had no issue giving me a SATT to get from post office to home, but when I asked if I could take to the range was told I had to wait for the cert...gotta love the gov.t!
