Bought myself a new groundhog gun a few weeks back. Remington vlss thumbhole in a .204 ruger! Looks and feels great, picked it up at Lebaron's here in Ottawa. The guys were really good to me there, but it was a slow day.

Bought a new ZOS 10-40 x 60 Scope with a 30mm monotube...just arrived today. Came with rings (garbage - used my remington high rings), flip up covers, 5" sunshade, handwheel and a cleaning cloth. I love the side turret adjustment for Parallax, quick and smooth especially with the handwheel.

I just need a bipod. Can't wait to to sight it in.:D

That's a sweet little gun there. I just put a Boyd's thumbhole stock on one of my rifles and it sure feels nice. I've never seen a scope with a thumbwheel like that?

For those wondering... adjusting Paralax at the end of a very long scope is awkward when in the prone position so they design these with a side paralax adjustment. If you are shooting a groundhog at 400 yards then 50 and back to 300 in three quick shots it makes sense.

With the .204 Ruger's lack of major recoil, you can see the targets being hit throught the scope, and without lifting your eye from it you can turn the large wheel on the paralax turret.

This will be my first...if I tend not to use it...then it simply removes with a turn of a screw....great for storing in the gun safe too. :)

For those wondering where I got the scope...I have included the ebay ad I used. Comes straight from china delivered to Canada free and in less than a week and a half it was at my door.

I must say there is great discussion on scope forums about this particular scope...and people want to compare it to a Zeis etc...well it's not. But for the money it is amazingly built, heavy duty and I think it will take the abuse.

At 40 power the sight picture isn't super clear, but anything under that is amazing. Don't use the supplied rings, you will regret it. I bought the Remington high rings for $22.00 at LeBarons. If you have any questions PM me.

The paralx wheel is a nice touch in the field or at the range. The Hawke Optics Sidewinder 30 paralax wheel on my Savage Predator is going to see alot of duty this coming 'Yote season :D

The big wheels have been used on air rifle scopes for field target shooting for a long time.
