Over/Unders are nice too if you might consider this style of shotgun. I find them to be more pointable than a side by side, especially with a vent rib, but this is a very subjective thing. I just bought a nice new Stoeger (IGA - Condor) O/U in 12 ga last week for $450 plus tax and am very pleased. CZ makes a very nice O/U in 20 ga. that I almost bought at the time. It was about $200 more. I guess I'm saying I feel your $1,500 budget may be much more than you need to spend at this point to get nicely into the hobby. With the left over $$ you can buy a couple of flats of ammo, electronic hearing protection, some nice shooting glasses, and have lots of cash left. If you buy used you can do even better. JMHO.
