I just got my restricted and ordered a gun from Frontier Taxid.
I havnt joined a range yet so I applied for the Temp ATT.
The CFC wouldnt even approve the temp ATT or the Reg. Transfer until I joined a club.
From everything I've heard in Manitoba a Temp would be issued without a club memb. And also the registration transfer through the Federal office should have been done anyway as I have the Rest. liscence. What gives????

I have always been a member of a club so I am not 100% sure, but I am sure that is part of the law for owning a restricted firearm since there is no where else you can legally shoot one but at an approved range. I may very well be wrong though. I am in Alberta too so it might be different here.

Things seem to have actually gotten worse since the RCMP took over the CFC. I wonder if this part of how they intend to tighten the screening process?

You're hearing the new gospel, according to the Manitoba's CFO. In fact, you must now belong to a club to get an ATT. They are trying to standardize across Canada. This was alway's the case, however, it's new
that they are enforcing it here.

Standardization is one thing. Making policy that is not supported by law is another.

I agree with the previous statement that things have gotten worse for us since the RCMP took over.

Alberta is the same way. I joined another range because of it. I did my homework and when my rpal comes in hopefully there wont be any delays because of some thing silly.

Stevo,

I realize it's not supported by law, but the thunder clouds are rolling in here anyway. Hopefully our horse comes in.

In Ontario, you can acquire restricted by
a) becoming a Collector (Not recommended)
b) 1. having Club membership
OR b) 2. INTENDING to join a club

I have acquired them for all three reasons. My brother in law is still in the process/intending on joining and he has two HGs and an AR already!
P.S. Dan Belisle is right, just more made-up CFO BS NOT supported in law just to jerk around the law-abiding gun-owners.

I came accross this.
from what I hear it works
as soon as i get my PAL ill let you know how it works
unless some one has already done this?
