New gun, nothing but trouble with 155gr 45 boolits

I sold my old norc 1911 and it ran the 155gr semi wadcutters no problem, loved the clean nearly 1/2" holes in the target.
New double stack norc 1911, and suddenly the hair bulged cases couldn't chamber, if I seated them out, would touch the rifling and wouldn't chamber or the little lead ring around the brass would muck it up.
Ran through a ladder test of seating depth and can't get the compromise sorted. It's a bloody light shooting accurate bullet when it goes, even in this new gun.
What a frustration!

I think I might have to resort to chamfering the leading edge of the wadcutter "heel", just to prevent it from nicking the rifling which would slow down the process.
Any advice? I seen Lee has 160gr round nose, but not a single soul in Canada sells them!

No, I think you may be over crimping. BTW, you should have kept the single stack Nork.

Maybe easiest is to seat the bullets with the shoulder almost back to the case mouth. I've had to do this with some SWC loads in 45ACP. They still ran fine in all my semiautos, surprisingly enough.

Or throat the barrel. That might give you more options anyhow.

Shot thousands of cast bullets 155gr SWC. Bullet shoulder sticking out about the thumbnail-thick... all loaded rounds were finished-off through a Lee taper-crimp die.
