I've got a Henry 45-70 as one of my cabin gun but if a I can shave off 2" for a overall length of 35" I'll be looking at the 1895 Trapper. Just crossing my fingers they've addressed and improved their QC issues to match the MSRP.

Ive got a gbl that I have the happy Trigger as well as the deer proof injector stainless steel magazine follower and the whole action has been polished. Always wanted an SBL but I don't think it's worth changing everything over again

Thats what went through my mind as well. They are nice looking guns, but Marlin had some quality issues in the past.

I'm buying one of these in 357.. Perhaps the ones on the EE with asking price of $1000 will come down now that they are in production again..

yep, them Marlins used to be the quintessential 357mag levers
but then Remlin screwed up and handed the market to the likes of Henry and Ruger (not a lever but still a 357)
I'm curious whether they can take this niche back or not.
