Hi Everyone,

I've just completed my rPAL course and am currently waiting for my card to arrive.

My dad and I took the class together, as he is planning on spending a fair amount of time in the woods ... His primary concern is protection from wildlife, and fun shooting. (I think the last time he handled a gun was when he was in the reserves, before I was born. (I'm in my 30's)

I'm a complete noob when it comes to guns - I hadn't touched a real one prior to my PAL classes, but found everything to be pretty straight forward and common sense.

I'm currently looking at getting a .22 rifle to learn/practice with, and move on from there.
No idea if I will move on to hunting or not - time will tell.

I'd be interested in meeting local people that I can learn from, as I only know one other person with any firearms, and only a few with any experience.

Welcome to CGN ;)

Thanks for all the welcomes.

I've been leaning towards a Marlin 795 ... From what I've researched, It's something that I can get into the sport with little upfront or upgrade costs, but still accurate. Thoughts?
