New hand gun shooter/Help

I have just had myRPAL application approved. YA WHO.
I would like to start hand gun training with a 22.
Any suggestions on what to start with?
I don't want to spend a whole lot of money but I don't want to get something cheap either.

Have a look over in the Revolvers and Pistols Forum, this has been covered in detail there many times. Good choice on the .22LR, it is the best way to learn to really shoot instead of just spray lead downrange and make noise.

A .22LR conversion kit along with the centerfire pistol of your choice - whether 1911, Glock, or Sig Sauer - would be my recommendation.

It might cost a little more now but, in the long run, you'll save money, and you'll be much further ahead.
