Great idea! Does fouling ever make it difficult to remove the insert? The lugs on the "wrench" tool must be pretty small.

tested one with 4000 rounds and didn't remove once for cleaning Cam right out. We will recommend taking out at least once every 500 rds . Installs with 18 to 28 inch lbs only using a fix it stix . Nice thing compared to others that need to remove the whole brake. Only the insert needs to come out so no POI shift between cleaning. Spanner tool that will be supplied with the brake has 4 pins the interface with the insert. Tool is p110 steel so its very strong.

I am in set one aside for me. Maybe FDE, black would fine too.

brakes will be nitrate black. These were done in cerakote for pics and as they were done in a non production run for shot show. We have done custom colors at an additional cost for customers in the US and Canada and Australia.

This might be a dumb question (I've never had a brake on a rifle before). Is the insert just to facilitate cleaning? I saw you noted no point of impact shift. Is that a consideration with a brake that needs to be spun off entirely to clean? Were there any other changes or adjustments from the previous Heathen?

Insert is to facilitate the ability to change the caliber. Same brake body if you will but can run 22 cal to 33 caliber inserts with in that single body by simply changing out the insert. I does make it nice to be able to remove the insert to clean the brake.

My only question is the thread size when it mates with the barrel. Very few 223/5.56 threads are the same as 7.62, unless in the picture, i just see a stainless thread sleeve.

what is the price point for just the threads of different sizes?

Think the idea if mainly for custom rifles, like having to rifles spun with 1" barrels and have the threads milled the same on both rifles for simply changeovers

yeah figured might be the case. i don't see the advantage on regular barrels when the thread pitch/size is different for different calibers.
